I'd like to start off by saying I have a lot of feelings and I haven't processed them all yet...

Didn't Lorelai know from reading Wild that you're not supposed to pack a ton of unnecessary stuff for those hikes? But I did LOL at all the single and/or "troubled" women doing that hike and wanting to throw their shoes over the cliff. Did anyone else recognize Mindy Colette/Riggins from FNL in those scenes? And the ranger on the second day is Peter Krause aka Lorelai's former Parenthood costar and IRL boyfriend.

Why doesn't Rory just bring her own laptop to the Gazzette and ditch that 1980s relic of a computer?

The life and death brigade shenanigans was definitely a time filler but I didn't totally hate it.

Lorelai's monologue about being at the mall with Richard and the pretzel story was phenomenal acting by Graham. She killed that scene.

Then Rory walking through her grandparents house seeing flashbacks of Richard gave me so many feels. This episode made me very emo.

Watching Rory and Christopher's conversation was puzzling in real time, I wasn't sure if it had to do with the book. After the bomb drop ending it made sense though.

Dean is married (not to Lindsey) with 3 kids and a 4th on the way LOL

I loved Emily's ending/new beginning. It was beautifully done. And she made it through the whole year without firing a maid!

Final 4 words.... ahhh the buildup. wtf. Amy and Daniel Palladio better march their asses into the writers room and turn out some new episodes immediately.

Unanswered questions:
Who is the father of Rory's child? I assume Logan but you never know
What happens with her Gilmore Girls book project?
Do Luke and Lorelai end up having a kid?
Is Jess still jonesing for Rory?

Has to be Logan. Yes, my wife keepsy balls on her dresser drawer, but I've always been Team Logan and the Life and Death Brigade part was the best part of the new reboot by far
Kirk was a far second

This was a great way to end the series.

I don't think there are any new episodes. ASP wanted those words to end the series since day one. It's Logan's baby but she will never be with him and I think Jess is Rory's Luke. I cried a lot during this episode!

Just finished.

Can't think of a more fitting ending to the series than Rory being the father of a bastard child.

I hated the ending of the original series because it was a fairy tale happily ever after attempt executed horribly. I was sure that would be the same for this, everyone gets a happily ever after. Glad Rory didn't get hers.

Glad Emily found peace. She was the one I rooted for in this reboot.

just finished as well. creepy.

that episode sucked until the last 30 minutes. the scene with luke in his suit and kirk there was classic GG. loved that part.

kirk and peddles were the best part of the series. glad they got Sookie back in there. the random appearances of people from Parenthood was pretty great.

overall i felt like the reboot could have been better but it wasn't terrible.

eta: i think those last 4 words would have been so much more impactful with her at 22 rather than now at 32

I hate the fast paced dialogue of this show. Makes it seem vastly unrealistic. Every person in the show is apparently an improv God.

I found her story hard to follow, like there wasn't anything that really bridged the gaps from what she was doing throughout the 4 episodes.

I've seen every episode of GG and watched these last 4 and I still feel like I'm missing something with Emily.

I think Emily found herself. She stopped playing the part of society wife involuntarily. She stopped being robotic. She stopped the snobbiness and became free and happy.

I didn't like most of the last installment. I wanted to ff. I was bored to tears. Rory's love life was disappointing. Made Lorilai look somewhat like a failure. I was glad she and Luke finally tied the knot.

I love Michel. He cracks me up.

The clip of Emily working at the shark museum may have been my favorite moment of the entire reboot.

Yeah there were parts that were hard to get through. The musical and the whole nature hike to start the fall episode. Yawn.

I am glad Rory's love life didn't get settled. With the way she behaved in college and in the reboot she didn't deserve it. She was not a sympathetic girl. She was a bitch, a tramp, and full of herself. She had the Stars Hallow residents tell her for her whole life she was perfect and infallible. She slept with married/engaged men. She is carrying a bastard child. She doesn't deserve a happy ending. That's why I hated the ending of the original series, they tried to give her a happy ending with the whole town celebrating her. frick that. She was a total stuck up bitch ho in the last 4 seasons. She joined up with the Life & Death Brigade which are just a bunch of rich troublemaking assholes who get away with their shenanigans because they are rich. So I am glad the writers didn't give her a happy ending with her love life. Jess and Dean were too good for her. Logan had the moral high ground at first but not anymore.

Lorelai was also not perfect either. At times she was hard to sympathize with. I hated the way she treated her parents throughout the series. But she was no Rory. At least Lorelai made it on her own(for the most part). Yeah her parents gave her money to put Rory in Chilton and yeah Luke gave her a $30k loan but she did work as a maid/inn manager and run her own business. She didn't have a golden ticket trust fund like Rory had. Lorelai was a harlot slut and slept with men, but at least they weren't married men. So yes, Lorelai got her love life settled, but she had to earn it, and it was not as early as she had hoped for. I still think Luke was too good for Lorelai anyway. He deserved better.

Same

I hope Michel stays since he hates all the interviewees.

Im glad Sookie made an appearance. Those Lorelai/Sookie scenes from season 1 are the roots of Gilmore Girls (like that its the name of the book too)

Emily was amazing. "bullshite!" The Richard season 1 and 3 flashbacks with him in the study were great. Can see Rory writing there.

Life and death brigade was on point but i was rooting for Jess to crash it.

Wish there were more Luke/Jess scenes. I wonder when Jess spent 6 months living with Luke? Team Jess glad he inspired Rory again like season 6.

s Jess still jonesing for Rory?

Definitely. That scene where he looks at her through the window = feels.

It was actually nice to see Dean. Him and Rory's non-bf/gf scenes were always good. Totally buy him as a dad.

Wish there were more Hep Alien scenes

The Christopher scene made sense at the end. I figured Rory was just informing him about the book. (I like that she's writing it and Lorelai softened her stance) i like that she didn't take the key from Logan.

More Paris next time. Her and Doyle need to reconcile.

The Wild stuff was weird

Wonder how long Rory has known...the way it ends totally leads you to believe there'll be more soon. Hope so anyway.

And hopefully their pre-wedding holds up.

Overall enjoyed it. Hope there's more on the way.

So next time:

More Paris

More Jess

More cameos (the reverend, ms. Celine) was surprised we didn't see Madeline and Louise in Spring.

How could they not have a Sookie/Jackson scene?!

More Emily
