The show moves painfully slow as is... Dragging it out past 8 would just be ridiculous if they intend on moving the story along at this snails pace

I'm all for 10 seasons but speed it up.

I don't think it would work for the mass audience. It's a good story on its own, but jerking people off by doing a flashback season would be looked at as one of the great blunders in TV history. Sadly, squeezing every drop out of something until people don't care anymore is a tried and true, maximum profit strategy. I would expect nothing less.

I dont think so. I would be very interested to see a rebellion season or movie. Theres so much backstory that is interesting. And seeing Rhaegar and young Robert battle would be legit

I think the longer they go without the source material, the longer they run the risk of running out of quality storylines. Profound, I know. But still, I'd take an extra season because I'll be clinically depressed when GoT comes to an end.

Many people would enjoy it. Many would not. They would almost certainly lose a big chunk of the audience. They aren't going to do that just to whack off the dorks.

I'd much rather it end on a high note in season 7 or maybe 8, than seeing the show milked into mediocrity. If it has important stories to tell, okay, but the series already feels like it's headed towards a conclusion.

Disagree. I think they should do everything they can to keep Rhaegar off screen. It's his whole appeal that he's not well understood and we only hear about him from different parties' perspective. I think he loses some of that mysteriousness if we see his face. Like a Bobba Fett origin story, it takes more aware from the character than it adds.

He probably actually is dead. I doubt he stays dead though.

My theory: he is actually dead - freeing him from his oath to the night's watch and will be brought back.

In other words, it was a plot device to get him back south of the wall.

The only way they should draw it out is to have a Roberts Rebellion season.

That is a really good idea.

Game of Thrones has stopped for me until Martin either dies or releases The Winds of Winter.

Even when I came to that conclusion after finishing the books, I was pretty sure I wasn't the first guy to make that prediction.
