Game of Thrones will be go past season seven

The show's creators believe that the eighth season will be the final season but HBO would like for them to drag it out if at all possible.

I would think that would have been useful information before they skipped and skimmed a shite load of stories they could have done to over take the books. I never understood why they decided to try to catch up this season when they didn't have to.

They also said today they would interested in doing a prequel series after the series ends if Dave and Dan would be interested in doing it.

It's going to be really hard to go past 8. I really think they wanted to finish in 7 if possible. There is a lot to cover, but there are also a lot of actors to pay who will eventually want to do other things. Also, I think the age of the characters is a big deal.

Sadly, squeezing every drop out of something until people don't care anymore is a tried and true, maximum profit strategy. I would expect nothing less.
