May just be better to wait.
The resolution was horrible due to the file size being only 110mb. I am in Afghanistan and usually have to wait all day on Monday for the episode to DL and watch on Monday night. Will definitely DL a 1080 copy tomorrow and watch again.
ETA: Nevermind, there are 1080p copies up now.

Well, I couldn't wait till this afternoon. I just finished it. I thought it was a great episode. I hate that Summer got it though. Why do they keep killing the direwolves ?
I always suspected that the CoF created the Others to help fight the First Men, and the alliance between the CoF and the First Men was a result of the CoF not being able to control the Others.
That was a pretty rough scene between Sansa and LF. She didn't cut him any slack.
I wonder if the Manderly's will side with Jon. I'm guessing they don't based on the spoilers. But that is kind of going to suck if they don't just because of how I vision them from the books. But I know the books and show are different, and I just need to accept that.
And I loved the exchange between Varys and the new Red Priestess. Very rarely do you see him get knock off-balance like that.

I agree with everything you said. I am super stoked that Sansa pretty much told LF to frick off, I should have you killed right now.
That ending was a total kick in the balls!! I was sitting in my office in Afghanistan having to make myself not cry in front of a bunch of other guys...LOL

That's why I asked about when exactly the NK was created. Was that thousands of years ago or 5?

The Long Night supposedly happened over 1,000 years ago according to Westerosei legends and tales.

I know the book situation, hence the question. And that's why it frustrated me a little. Instead of explaining the WW, they made it more complicated. Now there's this random guy. Who? Created by the children of the forest. Who wanted men dead and now don't. What changed their mind? Dragon glass was used to create them, now it kills them. No closer to understanding that. And did the children create him for the current situation or thousands of years ago? What's he been doing in the meantime?
Posted on 5/22/16 at 9:29 am to ell_13
Of course vision was of 1000 years ago. Why would you think it was current? Book readers should be able to understand that. Now I can see Hodors being confused though.
And I think it's pretty obvious that dragon glass kills them because they were made by magic and dragon glass. So the same substance made them can kill them.

Holy shite that episode. I have heard many theories on Hodor being a much bigger player later on because his name was similar to meaning something else. Kind of funny that he got his name just from something simple as "hold the door". Definitely a tear jerker though.

So what has the NK been doing all this time and all these winters? I know what happens in the books. Why else would I mention thousands of years. But can we separate the two a second and think about this from the show... When did this happen. It's not apparent that it was a long time ago. If anything, we are to assume it was fairly recent.

Gathering an army waiting for winter. The NK isn't stupid he knows he would need a large army did you see how easily Meera killed his bitch general.

I really hope Hodor doesn't get his name from some Inception-ish dream in dream bullshite in the books. I still don't understand the scene on why he warged out as a kid in a dream.
As for the rest of the episode, I thought it was in line with what i expected for the most part. I was shocked that Summer ate it but at this point who gives a shite. I barely remembered his name and my buddies who have been doing a full GoT marathon from the start didn't even know it.
As for creating the White Walkers, could anyone tell if that was the same guy that plays the Night's King? maybe he sacrifices himself to the CotF to protect the north and they make him the Night's King and give him abilities. Maybe Bloodraven is supposed to be able to control him and that is why NK wants BR dead? So now Bran is the only one powerful enough to garner control of the WW.
ETA: According to IMDB the guy sacrificed is the Night's King and has been playing him this season. So that was the creation of the Night's King.
Sansa is a little better but I really hope Brienne dies soon, I really fricking hate her goodie goodie bullshite when she does nothing but frick up.

I'm not trying to read anything about the episode that just leaked, but since it appears the spoilers for the rest of the season are legit, I'm really hoping they're incomplete.

If Hodor saw his death then that means he went along the entire journey knowing how he would die. Makes a little more tragic. Did Hodor sacrifice himself or did Bran force him to?

So Summer dies? Why do D&D hate direwolves so much?
Because they are trying to save money I'd imagine is the long and short of it. Pretty lame really.

But I also don't think he saw his death, he heard voices screaming hold the door and drove him mad somehow. I will have to watch it again on my DVR tonight or tomorrow to see if I missed something. As a kid, he got warg out eyes for whatever reason like Bran warged into his child form for whatever reason. On a quick watch, none of it made sense so I hope the book is completely different or more detailed. Bran and Bloodraven know that the Night's King is on his way and yet they go to a random scene of his father leaving for the Vale instead of trying to cliff notes that shite and hammer out some stuff that would help Bran in the long run.
While some of the overall might be pretty close to the books, i think the books should be a much better scene. This is a big reason why I bitched about them abandoning the Bloodraven progression last year instead of folding in his training, even that extra time would imply that Bran wouldn't be ready when the time comes but it wouldn't be as bad.

It wasn't a random point in time, it was the point in time when Willis became Hodor. Bloodraven knew that Bran needed Willis to be turned into Hodor so that he'd be there in the cave in order to hold the door to allow Bran to escape.
Now if you want to bitch about the whole time traveling thing, and if how could Bran have gotten to the point where he went back in time to change Hodor before Hodor was changed, well that is a paradox, and why time travel is impossible. You can't explain it.
Posted on 5/22/16 at 2:59 pm to Bamatab
It was a random point. its a paradox without reason. Hodor is only hodor because of the situation in the future which wouldn't have happened if he wasn't hodor to begin with. It's stupid.
Why not warg into hodor when he's 25 or heck when he's 4? And on the other side, once they know the WW are coming, BR says hey bran let's watch some more of your young father and everyone just calmly goes along with it? I mean if they had fricking left right then and there they all get out instead of just 2 of them. BR chose to sacrifice hodor to save just the two instead just getting the frick out all together?

And how far is Bran supposed to get with Meera pulling him? 50 ft before that door breaks? He's only 100 miles from the Wall, no big deal
