i also think they have to have joffrey die or some kind of evil character bite the dust for TV viewers to keep hope alive after the RW, HBO doesn't want backlash from that where everyone is like WTF and gets pissed off.

My roommate does this shite too. He even hated Blackwater, which is really one of the finest episodes of TV ever produced.

Blackwater was great, by far the highlight of the season. Coincidence that GRRM wrote it? It's the rest of the season that was a let down

Only solid prediction I can make for S3 is after TRW airs, we'll have to cue the

"That's it. I was pissed about Ned, but now I REALLY will never watch this show again!"

music from the illiterate fricktards.

He wrote "The Pointy End" for sure...I didn't think he wrote "Blackwater".

Or...if only Catelyn would've just fricked Littlefinger when they were kids, none of this would have ever happened

Robb was an easy character to like, of course. But once he married that island girl, wtfever her name is, he fricked shite up. He needed to be clipped.

Yeah Robb had the most badass army in Westeros, better Generals than any of the other kings, and a freaking horse sized wolf acting as his personal bodyguard. And proceeds to throw it away on some chick, who offers him nothing in marriage and is not even close to being on par with the other masterpieces walking around the 7 Kingdoms.

Definitely. You get Highgardern and you know she wasn't getting poked by Renly.

Exactly.

The books portray her as a very nice girl as compared to the TV series, dont you think? I saw Season 2 before reading the books, so seeing how nice and innocent she was in the books really jarred me.

I read her first and I thought she was portrayed a little too grown up on TV. The I'll do anything to be queen attitude is probably how she feels in the books, but she hides it by constantly acting her age. She will throw a little hint that she knows the game she is playing here and there, but she plays it very conservative.

If they screw up Dany buying her unsullied, I will be pissed. It is one of the very few times in the story when she not only surprises everyone around her with a badass move, but that badass move turns her from a toothless (dragons still small) foe into a force to be reckoned with. That scene should be at least 10 minutes long. Let that a-hole Kraznys act like an arse, get to know and like Missendai, and then, well, she takes the city and gains an army.

Blackwater was also chock full of pricey special effects and had the luxury of an episode completely about that event.

And the rest of the season was hardly a letdown. Of course if you knit pick over every single little detail not included in a show then I can see where it might be.

Agreed! I know those dragons require lots of time and money to produce, but that scene really sets up a lot. After her ho-hum search for her dragons in all of Season 2, the character deserves some awesomeness.

Looking WAY ahead, since she gets SO bogged down in bureaucracy in Meereen, might as well make her fun when you can.

Yea that's what made it great, the explosions

S2 was a letdown bc of some bad writing like robb's love scene and unnecessary changes

Yeah that's exactly what I was saying. (see I can do that too).

My point was that a lot of attention to detail was put in that episode and it showed. But it was by no means the only good episode of the season and that's exactly how you're making it sound. And I'm not shocked because you bitched pretty incessantly all season long about every little change, threatened to give up the show, and etc. We get it. This show apparently makes you miserable because it's not the transition of the text verbatim. So why even watch?

Season 2 was a letdown if you couldn't deal with the fact that there's going to be lots of changes due the content they're covering and the chance that HBO won't commit to a 10 season show.

Were there some things I would've liked to have seen? Sure. I would've liked to have seen Weasel Soup too. But there were things we were given, like Arya and Tywin's scenes, that was fantastic TV. And anyone under selling last season because of changes from the book is being a bit silly.

You're just an apologist for everything re GOT. We get it the show gets your panties wet just thinking about and you feel the need to defend everything semi-critical. Learn to accept not everyone has your same opinions

I watch the show bc it has its moments which is more than 90% of tv and the times they get it right are awesome, but unnecessary changes and bad writing sucks

So let me get this straight. You say this:

quote:

I started out following this production from the very beginning and eating up every rumor, casting, set pics, etc, but after what they did in the second season, they're gonna frick this one up too. I've lost faith in D&D w/ some of the changes/omissions and think S3 will be another let down.

And you're really going to bitch about being called out for saying the 3rd season is going to suck before we even see so much as a teaser?

Seems like I'm not the one that needs to learn a few things.

Yes, I think the show is great. I like to talk about it here with people that share that opinion (which seems to be most everyone around here except you). I think your opinion that the show's 3rd season is going to suck when at the most we've seen a production photo is a bit more then premature. I'm not going to apologize for calling out the ridiculousness of that and the statement that all of Season 2 was a letdown sans Blackwater. Because they're some of the shittiest opinions I've seen about the show on the board to this point.

If that's knighting for it then suit me up and show me the way to Harrenhal.
