This is bullshite. You are trying too hard.

Stop, discussing it with non-book readers it has nothing to do with posting an actual spoiler as it does with how you have a tainted perspective.

No it's not. I'm literally going on what has happened in the show.

Like I said yesterday, it's cool that readers want to help, but sometimes that does more harm than good. So why not just avoid the potential bad altogether?

Speaking for myself, I enjoy participating in this thread. Not because I want to teach people or show off, but because I like the banter and discussion of the unknown.

So her posts are tainted because she's discussing things that anyone who has seen and paid attention to the show would know? Makes sense.

". She obviously has a long way to go and given where she's been thus far I think it served it's purpose in reminding us that she is in fact just a little girl. "

So you don't think speculating as to Arya's development is at all influenced by what you've read about Arya in the books?

It's very obvious you shouldn't be speaking about the future of anything since you have a perspective a show watcher doesn't.

What development? You are toeing the spoiler line by even saying anything.

BTW, I have no knowledge of what Arya becomes or doesn't.

bullshite, this is the same speculation done by non-readers. Again, trying too hard to find fault. If she posted that exact same thing under an alter, no one would say shite.

I was hoping this wasn't the answer, but it's all getting a little ridiculous, with JD Bama and shite.

Not at all. The comment about a long way to go is in terms of her sword skills. Can you not figure that out by what we saw? That's not a comment about her future development at all. That's your poor reading comprehension skills.

I'm with you in that. And it'd be great if that discussion could happen without information being divulged. But it can't. Hopefully next week's threads can clear up some of this crap.

Ummm, no. I think her comment has a lot more to do with having some sword skills, watching her father being beheaded, being whisked away and traveling with the night's watch, watching some of them die, being held captive by Tywin Lannister at Harrenhal, etc. She's saying her getting the sword knocked out of her hand is there to remind us that even though she's been through a lifetime of misery and seems tough, she is still a child. Nothing gives away anything in the future. All of these things happened in the show and something most show watchers would pick up on.

Love it.

Something else I loved was Orell's (the guy with the hawk) creepy eyes when he was warging. Makes me wonder if Bran looks like that if he wargs when he's awake.

Was anyone else disappointed that Arya had the sword knocked away so easily?

I know she is just a little girl, but part of me wanted to her be good with it.

As someone else said, she had only had a handful of lessons (as best I can tell) before Ned went and lost his head. She would be deadly against someone around her own age, but not against a full grown man with years of experience wielding a sword. It was suprising that he knocked the sword away with one swipe, but in a good way because once you look back on the previous seasons you see that she couldn't have the strength nor skill to hold her own against such an adversary.

Agreed. But even with what JD is saying now, I agree with the point he's trying to make (even if it seems like he's reaching). For safety's sake (in terms of book into), I'll bow out of the thread and let y'all continue discussion (or maybe skim it and respond here and there).

Sorry to all for the long-windedness.

And I think it's very different when we're talking about her skills with Needle vs. skills with a sword she is unfamiliar with. I would assume castle forged steel of that size is probably heavier. By what we have seen in the show she has likely not had near enough training to do what she can against an obviously accomplished swordsman without her "own" sword.
