Really? Because one guy gets killed? This is Game of Thrones for goodness sake. We all know anyone can get killed, even if they are still alive in the books.

I thought this was an excellent episode. Yeah, the ending bummed me out. But the overall storyline moved forward nicely, we had some good Bronn and Tyrion lines, Some Lannister conniving (which we know is really stupidity) and there were some massive R+L=J hints thrown in there. I loved the episode overall.

Where to start?

In the long run I can accept they killed off Barristan. I would have preferred to see him go into that big battle that was raging at the end of the books but others can play that card (Tyrion is not a bad strategist judging by the battle of Blackwater I think). If they really did it just for shock value then I do think it was a misstep. But if they had legitimate story reasons to remove him I can understand.

The thing that did piss me off was they turned the Unsullied into a bunch of jobronis to those Sons of the Harpy losers. Heck, even being unnumbered, the Unsullied could have put up two shield walls and handled those jokers. Especially since they were in a narrow corridor and couldn't be flanked.

Likewise, the Faith Militant look like a bunch of fools and them being a threat over Kingsguard and even regular royal troops requires some serious suspension of disbelief for me.

Barristan did good but like someone said up-thread that whole scene just didn't seem that well plotted, choreographed and executed. Selmey deserved better.

Loved the Wall stuff, Tyrion and Jorah and Jamie and Bronn. The Sand Snakes seem kind of stupid but they kind of did in the book too and hopefully the show will use them to contrast with Prince Doran playing the long game.

OMG this episode was great...the scene with Shireen and Stannis is one of my favorites.

Funny little thought during the Stannis scene(not mine):

"Shireen, why are you squeezing me with your body?"

"This is a hug, Dad."

It proves you should probably not read the books. I’ve read the books. So I thought this season I was going to have more to do, and I was really looking forward to that. And then I got my dates from my agent and I thought, ‘That doesn’t tally.’ Because there was no way if they were sticking to the books that I should be in for that number of weeks. It seemed to me they must be writing me out. So I had a word with the line producer and said, “Can you corroborate that they’re writing me out?” Then the [showrunners] rang me and told me, ‘Your time is up in this series.’ So perhaps I took them by surprise that I knew.

It frustrates me how the Unsullied are set up as the greatest fighters Dany could get but they just got their arse handed to them pretty bad.

This was an issue of mine as well. Though they are set up for battle on the field and not close quarters melee.

This will bug the shite out of me for a while... The Unsullied are supposed to be the most disciplined fight force in Essos, but a group of untrained dbags in masks show up with knives and they all break formation and do their own shite.

Geez man there were outnumbered like 50 to 6. I would say the Unsullied fought pretty well

Yeah I noticed that Stannis defended Ned in the scene with Selyse.

If they do that, there will likely be a riot.

I don't see them going that far with killing LF at Kings Landing. If anyone other than a Stark kills LF (hopefully Sansa), I'm gonna be pissed.

I'm worried about LF. He has control of a strong land, is the title holder for a larger land and has northern allies. With the Lannisters being so weak at this point, he should tell Cersei to "frick off" I don't think he is going to King's Landing. I think he just wants everyone to think he is.

They aren't exactly equipped for guerrilla urban warfare.

But they're fighting people with zero peripheral vision. There's no way the Sons of the Harpy can see anything to their sides.

That was a really well done scene. The delayed hug from Stannis was so well done.

LOL. I think this season has been pretty good so far. frick Martin for all I care at this point; the showrunners have been doing pretty well streamlining the storylines.

At least the bastards finally gave Barry a fight scene that showed how badass he was. The Mannis is good as dead (at the hands of Brienne i'm sure), the LF/Sansa conversation was proof. He has to die so Sansa can prove how badass she is at "the game", Girl Power! And Daario is still a fig.

I would be pissed because the only person who should and could kill him is Sansa IMO.

I agree with that...but with that being said, where else would Littlefinger be going to? The Wall? To Dany? Back to the Eyrie? I don't see him being gone for long at all.
