Why would Loras fight Strong?
The hound might make more sense from a book reader's perspective, but on the show it seems as if Loras was kept relavent for a reason. He could confess and then fight for the Faith as his penance.

In the books I kind of assumed Margary was innocent and it was not even sure they would proceed against her.

Hound v. Dondarion did not IIRC

I know but IIRC what he was accused of (by Arya) was killing the butcher's boy. And he was guilty of that. So the trial did not accurately reveal his guilt/innocence. Unless the gods bought the "I was acting under orders" defense.

GARLAN TYRELL
Where the hell is he in the show? He is one of the best sword fighters in Westeros.

Although, in this case, he really was innocent because he was under orders. Still, trial by combat just tests the better fighter.

In Westeros though, especially at this period of time, it is an open question what "magic" or "religion" works and what doesn't. For many things it falls into the "it often works but sometimes in ways that will screw you if you rely on it" axiom. See: Stannis and also see Cersi's actions taken in reaction to Maggie the Frog's fortune telling.

Well if that is the case (but I don't think that makes him innocent), trial by combat would be 3 for 3 unless I'm forgetting some. If it is always accurate Cersi would be in trouble as well as Margary & Loras on the show.
Here's a challenge - name the instances in which "magic" or "religion" have worked in SOI&F. Most but not all are prophecies that come through to some extent or other I think.

Magic of the Red God works ..... Generally (raise dead, queef killers)
CotF magic protects their hideout, plus their fireballs.
Magic built the wall and keeps it up.
Nights King raises dead.
There is quite a bit of magic/religion that works.

I think its strange that we don't see any magic from the Seven or the Drowned God. The only two religions that seem legit are the Red God and the Old Gods.

Pretty sure the 7 are very anti magic

You could be right about the seven. Now that I think about it, Tyrion's 2nd trial by combat was not accurate. He was innocent of Joffrey's murder but the Mountain beat the Viper under the rules of the contest. I've tried to think of and even google for some magic they've showed but can't come up with any unless you count things like Lancel and probably the Hound being converted and finding peace. Maybe GRRM is saving a show of their magic for a big moment.
I've always attributed Patchface's prophecies to The drowned god because IIRC he changed after he was presumed drowned.
Other presumably non red god and old gods magic that I can think of:
- The house in the land way in the east of Essos where Danny saw the prophecies.
- The blood magic used to hatch the dragon's eggs.
- Probably Maggie the Frog (though I guess it is possible that she is related to the old gods. The lady on the island - ghost on the hill I think she was called - more likely was related to the old gods.
- Oh and I'm pretty sure that stuff the Faceless Men do with those faces contains some magic.
- There are also the glass candles but we really haven't been given much info on them yet.

Doesn't Aeron bring people back after "drowning"? Or is that just a Westerosi version of CPR?

The maesters are the ones who seek to destroy all magic, and were the true killers of the dragons.

Full Disclosure, this is LucasP's SO posting his thoughts after just watching the last two episodes:

-Dictated but not read by "Mrs P."
Seriously get him unbanned because I will not continue to do this for his drunk arse.

Don't forget the baddest living dude across the narrow sea is Jorah. He could be requested by Tyrion or Dany to fight for them if they are captured in Westeros. Jorah would do it for a promise of pardon and to remain to protect the new Queen Dany. Of course, don't also forget that Bronn is no pushover over and would make mincemeat of Loras. We may even eventually see a Bronn vs Hound showdown at some point.

The funny thing is that actress has at least 3 other "audition" tapes with that same white painted brick background.
Vimeo page
Maybe it's a casting agent or production company location or something. But it does not look like a GoT exclusive location.
