In regards to the poisoning, did anyone else eat the pie before Jackass? They only showed Joffrey eating.

Joffrey took a sip of the wine, set it down. Then the Queen asked for the pie to be brought it, once Joffrey's slice was cut off, they went back to the pie to show it.

The Queen asked for the pie to brought out and fed Joffrey with haste.

Most likely, I'm way off base

Tyrion shouldn't have poisoned the king. All Cersei is going to remember is how he told her that he would hurt her for assaulting his whore.

I don't think he did it...but that thing he told Cersei, and the fact that the poisoning could well be perceived as his "revenge" on Joffrey humiliating him at the wedding, definitely wouldn't make him look good.

but what if you've only read up to the Red Wedding? I have no idea what will happen next and that's why I feel like I should be able to post in here. Can there be a HODOR vote for me?

Why shouldn't you be able to post in here? If you don't know anything coming and you don't post spoilers, then who cares?

Chicken posted a warning message - the powers that be want no book readers in the Hodors thread. I had assumed that a book reader who was well behind the series, and did not post spoilerish information would be good here - especially trying to avoid spoilers (as the reader and "middle ground" threads are filled to the rafters with spoilers - effectively every post would spoil it if you hadn't read everything to date). That appears to not be the case.

In any event, I understand iluv's trepidation about posting in this thread...

I had a reader friend accidentally sort of spoil (not fully but I know one person to scratch off as a potential suspect not that they were a major suspect but still) for me the other night. She's (or was) right on the same timeline as the show so I can see how a partial reader could leak things without the intent to do so.

Yes. 10 pain pills will kill some peeps, but that doesnt make them poison.

If you intentionally overdose someone without their knowledge, is that not poisoning them in some form?

Also, Cersei has possessed poison before, during the siege. I believe it broke when she dropped it (when her father came in), but just remembered that she had it.

yea but you would not call it poison. He would have to drink all 10 drops which would dilute in wine and it wouldn't cause a death that quick or in that manner.

That aside. I've thought it was cersi from the get go.

Essence of Nightshade is a medical substance used in small doses as an anti-anxiety formula, but large doses are fatal. A single drop added to a cup of wine will calm frayed nerves, and three drops will put a person into a deep, dreamless sleep. Ten drops, even diluted into a cup of wine, are fatal.

The jewel ,if that's where it came from, was big enough for 10 drops

1) that link should not be posted here

2) I dont believe that 1 sip of 10 drops diluted in wine will kill someone. then it would be one sip of one drop dialuted in wine would calm frayed nerves and so on.

think about it. just because that says it doesnt mean its true.
