frick you in the arse with a sandpaper dildo covered in Tabasco.
Because someone didn't get along with someone else Marvel is taking the most truly "good" character they have and making him into a shite-stain traitor.
Kirby must be rolling in his grave. I wonder what Stan thinks about this.

The latest ‘Captain America’ comic book series has made one of the most controversial decisions in the medium’s history, as they’ve revealed that Steve Rogers is and always has been an undercover agent for Hydra.
The first issue of ‘Captain America: Steve Rogers’ was released this week, and it’s already proving to be hugely divisive. Because while it returns to the 1940s and we get to see Steve Rogers as a youngster once again, it turns one of Marvel’s most iconic superheroes into a villain.
Fans have been quick to register their disdain with the decision, with many noting that it’s completely against the character’s back-story and the reason why Joe Simon and Jack Kirby created him in the first place.
But there might actually be more sinister reasons for the huge change.
Ever since the Marvel Cinematic Universe took Hollywood by storm there have been rumours that the relationship between the movie studio and Marvel Comics was rather rocky.
These were exacerbated when Marvel Entertainment CEO Isaac Perlmutter ceased overseeing the development of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it was alleged that Kevin Feige was frustrated working with him.
After the recent success of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never been more popular, which has led to online speculation that this reveal was only done to hurt both Feige and the Marvel movie division.
If that’s true then forget Iron Man and Captain America’s recent tussle, we could have an even bigger and more damaging Marvel civil war to contend with.

It's like they are little kids fighting over their toys.

It's going to be ok!!
Keep this in mind:
1. As a huge Cap fan, they've done worse (Werewolf Cap!!)
2. Cap just made a billion dollars, they won't ruin this, or bring it to the MCU
3. This is a comic, everything will go back to normal in the end, and Cap will be redeemed. This is par for the course.
4. This may even be the catalyst to give Cap his shield back in the comics.
I do admit, however, that the political tones of this is fairly stupid and annoying (our biggest hero, championing morally positive virtues was really evil all along!), but it is what it is. It will all work out in the end.

These are the same guys who "killed" superman in the nineties. It'll all get retconned back the way you like it.

This is where What ifs... and Elseworld comics really shined. I dont mind shaking things up like this. As Freaux said, it always gets reset in the end. fun to see some fresh, new stories instead of the same stuff.
I always wanted to see an elseworlds where bruce wayne, after witnessing his parents murder, has a psychological break and becomes the joker.

Thought they were announcing official plans to make him a homo.
I'd rather him be a villain.

It's not a spoiler, it's the set up. This is literally the first issue of the arc, which is creating the dramatic tension which should be resolved at the end of the arc. Here's your spoiler alert: everything will be fine.
I posted this in the other thread, but Kurt Busiek has been on fire on twitter about this. Essentially, keep you pants on and let people tell their stories.

Disney oversees both and would not allow Marvel to sabotage itself. They have final say over all decisions on both sides of that coin.

Isaac Perlmutter is taking petulant scorned lover to the extreme.

This twist sounds like something Zack Snyder would do if he got to direct Captain America.
After all, not everybody stays good.

This one has always been too obvious to actually be surprising.

Even with the shite they pull with the Xmen and FF properties, that's quite the retarded stretch there..

not sure how it is "obvious." the twist wouldn't be that he is the joker. it's more about the story and how Gotham would be shaped if that were the case. who would obviously be Batman then?

BTW, this part of the article is truly stupid:
This would be a big deal of Isaac Permutter had anything to do with the comics, but the editor in chief is Axel Alonso, who succeeded Joe Quesada in 2011. Neither one of those people are Permutter, as far as anyone knows.
The comics pretty much do their own thing, as the lag time between comics and adaptation to the screen is years, and sometimes decades. They could murder Tony Stark tomorrow and it would have literally no impact on the MCU, and thinking otherwise is contrary to all evidence.
