What's your top 5?

in my order:

1. Fast Times at Ridgemont High
2. Last American Virgin
3. Sixteen Candles
4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
5. Better Off Dead

HM:
Can't Buy Me Love
Breakfast Club

I use to love "The Breakfast Club", but "Sixteen Candles" has just held up better, with great quotes and better humor.

Could have been a great movie but the "Coreys" killed it.

But Jami in that movie (and Less Than Zero) was my fap bait for the time.

If Back to the Future and Karate Kid are considered teen movies then those are my top two.

They are considered "80's Teen Movies", but I would not consider "Back to the Future" a Teen Movie, Karate Kid is most definitely a Teen Movie.

Back to the Future has four main characters who are teenagers, there are all sorts of teen shenanigans, and the big finale is at the high school dance. I can see how it would be borderline but I think you could make a good argument that it is a teen movie.

"Donger, Grandpa is talking to you!"

I quote this ALL the time when my kids are not listening to me.

Or MANY other quotes from or related to "The Donger"

Only reason I don't consider it a 80's Teen Movie, is I consider the 80's Teen Movie pertained to a teenager's life in the 80's, not time travel back to the 50's.

Another honorable mention I would to include:

"Better Off Dead"

$2!!!!

Edit:

By my own definition, I wouldn't consider "Lost Boys" or "Porky's" as 80's Teen Movies. Lost Boy's is Horror/Sci-Fi and Porky's is set in the 50's like Back to the Future

That song "I know what girls like I know what guys want" is playing in my head now

I liked weird science, Goonies, and Back to the future also.

Better off dead is awesome.

But I would actually amend my top 5 and include The Sure Thing.

Cusack was golden in the 80s. And that movie still holds up with Tim Robbins and Daphne.

Forgot about this one, I loved it back then.

"Talkin to you cordless!!!'

Cusack is the KING of the 80's Teen Movies.

16 Candles
Better Off Dead
The Sure Thing
Say Anything
Stand by Me
One Crazy Summer

Another one I forgot about but have not seen in 30 years, "The Wild Life". I wonder if it still holds up like some of these classics.
