Wait... Didn't NASA know where she was the whole time? They just couldn't get her out of space?

This is one of those if you don't see it on a gigantic screen you lose quality.
But I still think it is good even on a 30 inch non 3D tv not using HD.

Saw it on Imax 3d.
watched about 20min on HBO over the weekend. Completely different. It was interesting but not the ride that it was in the theatres.
One question I would like to ask is ddoes the ISS and the Chinese space station always orbit that close to each other? It seemed like anytime SB got in trouble she would just say, "lets go next door to the other space station floating in space and use their escape pod." I always thought it was too conveinent for her. But not a big deal they had to make things work for the story.

Anyone who thinks she was stranded on an island, doesn't know that most countries have things called "radar" and would have noticed this capsule crashing through Earth's atmosphere and would easily find her location.

she seemed to have a lot of bad luck.. the place she landed was probably a leper colony.
also, back in the 60's the U.S. had inflatable rafts under the capsule...but the chinese didn't bother to put one on theirs ? or was it broken too?
and clooney was way to cool for a man who was floating off into space....

Because, well, George Clooney.
Probably doesn't take a role that doesn't make him look cool.

Okay, so she goes through the whole ordeal and crash lands on Earth...finally. She's on the beach, she's happy to be on Earth and safe. She struggles to her feet and begins to walk. The camera pans out from above (space shot). The viewer sees the truth. Turns out she landed on a tiny remote island in the middle of nowhere. The best the viewer can tell...she's completely alone. This raises the question: would it have been better had she just died up in space? On this island she is basically facing the same fate: she's alone and has to fend for herself and no one knows where she is. Would have made for a better ending imho.
someone already said "cast away 2" but before that when i read this i was thinking "then a waterlogged Wilson washes up at her feet." screen goes black
and then the L-O_S-T letters come at you.
i'm crossing all over this bitch.

It is literally impossible to do the jumps they did.
They couldn't have gone from the shuttle orbit they were in to the ISS, and they couldn't go from the ISS to the Chinese "station."
Also, it's impossible for a satelite destruction to have a "chain reaction" effect like is shown in the movie.

I thought it was better the second time I viewed it.

It's also impossible for the satellite debris to "catch up" with the space shuttle as both the shuttle and the space debris are orbiting the planet at the exact same speed.

That's the other aspect of the coin I was alluding to.
There would be a speed differential, but the satellites were in similar orbits and therefore speeds as the shuttle/station, so the debris would be too.
There would be debris, but it wouldn't be moving at a relative velocity as if the shuttle/stations were stationary.

If you didn't see it at the cinema in 3-D, then no, you did not watch Gravity. Gravity on a television screen and Gravity on the 3-D big screen are two different movies.

Kind of like Avatar, it was made with the theater experience in mind. Both stories sucked and Gravity was unbelievable because there is no way either one would have survived that. But you had to see it in the theater to get the full on effects. It sucked watching it at home and the plot becomes pretty bad when you watch it at home. If you watch it in theater you just marvel at the way it was filmed and ignore the plot.

And more of Sandra Bullock's body. I don't know who her personal trainer is, but they need a raise. Her legs are a smoke show!
