The Godfather lived up to its hype when I finally saw it a few months ago.

understandable. mob movies are always the most difficult to understand for me. In the end i always need to ask someone what just happened. it's pretty pathetic.

For me:

goodfellas
reservoir dogs
godfather 1 and 2

Don't bother if you lost interest.

And it's Donnie Brasco.

time for this again eh

to have those 4 movies(Goodfellas was very good) and not the Godfather 1 or 2 gives your list a big lack of credibility IMO but to each their own...

personally I think the acting in the GF movies makes those other 4 seem like Michael Bay films

not trying to be a dick but if I can ask, how old are you?

29...interested in why you think that may play a part though.

My problem is I lose interest in movies really easily and the Godfather is pretty slow going and loooooooong. Like I said, I am going to give it a run again soon, I have lots of time on my hands.

ETA: And Depp was pure money in Blow...hell all of those had great acting IMO

All of this. GF does start kinda slow with the wedding and all, and it never really picks up to be a fast-paced action-packed movie...but the last sequence with the christening is "gold, Jerry, gold!"
