Since this is a spoiler fest, maybe you should edit the thread title.

Salmon will say the following things when he finally posts:

1) He thinks it was awesome

2) He wants that house

As for me...

Great movie. I loved that it didn't talk down to me.

I figured out the help was a robot when they were dancing together so coordinatedly.

And I want to live in that house.

And I loved how the scene where she first wore clothes for Caleb mirrored the full-skinned scene...with much much different results!

And lastly...pretty sure 3 people left the theater and never came back. Dumb.

Nathan isn't awkward, in fact he cuts right through it

I kind of like that the mad genius is essentially a bro, and I love how he wants to talk about Ava in very human terms while the less sophisticated pawn talks like a techno geek

Just finished this, and I really enjoyed it. Thought the writing was excellent. It didn't try to do anything too much.

What I really loved were its many parallels to different historical and mythological events. My (somewhat obvious) favorite was that of the evolution of created to creator, and the inevitable destruction of the creator by the newly created. It's a tale as old as evolution on one level, but also an homage to what humanity throughout the years has decided to believe in spiritually.

The score was beautiful, the shots were tasteful, the writing (as stated before was wonderful). However, as for major character arcs it was fairly lackluster.

A very solid 8.5/10

For a debut director that is quite phenomenal.

It doesn't seem that most people got the part about Caleb also being an "a.i." ....

Celebs arc kinda bugged me tbh. Seemed to take too big a turn in too short a time

Turns out not only did she pass Caleb's test, but she also passed Nathan's.

I gave some thought to Nathan's dialogue because I love how he spoke in very human ways rather then a techno geek one would expect

It's more like he's an artist than a tech geek. 2 years in a row with an amazing theater experience

I figured it out the second she walked in the door since Nathan I don't think trusted anyone with this information, and I knew it beyond any doubt when Nathan said he brought her in because she couldn't speak English and needed to protect his secrets. Unless he kills them once every 4 to 6 months, then this is bullshite as anyone can tell you who has learned a foreign language. She would pick up on it in a mere manner of months, to where I concluded she had to be some sort of android, although I didn't think she was technically AI and could only do bare minimal commands instead of actual reasoning.

Everyone thought that, but they really did a good job of derailing your attention

Going to have to see this one again

It looks like it could be interesting. I'm sure I'll check it out at some point once it becomes available online.

you didn't figure it out when she didn't speak, ever?

this was a really solid flick. i almost wish they had just let her leave "clothed" and ended it with a shot (from the future) about time dead

my first thought was that she was an AI, but after a couple of instances of her eavesdropping (or at least what looked like it) I bought her story and was thinking corporate espionage

maybe I'm dumb, but great misdirection by the director.

Oscar Isaac was just so freaking good in this and his character was so well written. I really liked that he was an artist rather than a nerd, and the pawn, the idiot (comparatively speaking) was the nerd.

this just made dialogue scenes so much more intriguing and accessible.
