I watched it a couple weeks ago, and thought it was pretty stupid. And I'm usually down for mindless bullshite action movies. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't too good either.

It must be terrible then. I haven't seen it but my thought was that it is a movie about giant robots blowing shite up and killing stuff with Charlie Day in the cast. What is not to like?

"Oh for f#%k's sake. We're destroying the Earth, I get it. If I wanted to hear about it I would'nt go to a giant robots fighting movie."

That killed me too. They managed to cram an environmental pitch into a movie made for Japanese 8yr olds.

I won't say it isn't at all enjoyable, which is the ultimate goal of watching a movie (for me). But at the same time, I spent a lot of time questioning a lot of the points brought up in that link because a lot of shite just straight up either didn't make a lick of sense or was downright stupid. Even trying to just "shut off your brain and sit back and watch it" didn't really work for me.

It was for kids, not that it rules out my fun. As long as you write off Pan's & the Hellboys as a measuring stick you can enjoy it...like a really good grilled cheese.

Edit: Pan & the Hellboys is a great blugrass band name.

Very entertaining movie. I'm glad I saw it on the big screen in the theaters. It had plenty of action which is why you would go to see a movie with giant robots and monsters.

The movie was entertaining and most of those didn't bother me at all. The entire premise of the movie is crazy from the get go so you have to suspend belief some if you are going to enjoy it.
