TDK and TDKR.
Also, Saving Private Ryan. Saw this during the day and there were several older gentlemen, I'd have to assume vets, they all cried during the opening scene, a few got up and left and everyone in the theater clapped at the end. I can't watch the opening scene to this day without thinking about that and losing my shite.

Nobody applauded but everyone walked out in total silence. I've never experienced that with any other movie.

That's what happened when I saw SPR.

I've been to several, the worst was in Star Wars episode III the audience erupted when Yoda started fighting and doing flips

Saving Private Ryan was the complete opposite when we saw it. Theatre was packed. After the show was over, everyone just got up and slowly walked out. The only noise you heard was people crying. Very somber atmosphere. Great movie.

People will weep at movies, for sure. Grown-ups were bawling at the end of Toy Story 3.

The 3D release of Lion King.

Bunch of people who grew up in the 90's, huge round of applause when THE LION KING showed up at the end.
