Watched this with the kids tonight. I forgot just how funny this movie is. Ferrell near top form with several laugh out loud moments. The scene with Peter Dinklage was hilarious.

I'm not sure how that scene is going to age. At the time it came out he wasn't very famous. Now it almost has sort of a cameo effect.
It used to just be funny when you find out this pushy self-important guy was a dwarf. Then when Buddy thought he was an Elf it was hilarious. Now, he comes on screen and you instantly think Tyrion Lannister.

I watched this film for the first time with family right when it came out on video and did not want to watch it.
It has become my favorite Christmas movie, and I'm not someone who likes the Christmas film genre.

I saw it in the theater and thought it was ok. It has grown to be one of our families favorite Christmas movies. Not sure a movie has ever grown on me like this one.

This is the only thing I really don't like about the movie. The name of the elf is Buddy?? Really? Couldn't come up with anything more creative than that? Or is it intentionally corny and on the nose like that?
