Exactly.

Try surreptitiously taking pictures with that.
From 10 feet away.
In a quiet hallway.

Definitely a cell phone pic

The picture taking deal has to be one of the silliest things on this show. I wonder if they'll ever explain how it happened. They take such care in keeping everything true to the times.

Yea, I'm not really sure and was thinking the exact thing. How could they take a picture so fast? It's really absurd, I wonder if they cover it on the little show that talks about the background and making of Downton.

Makes me sad, but I'm somewhat relieved that the season is over. For the most part, it ended on a high note. The only cliff hanger I can think of is whether they're going to pursue Anna any longer, though the indications are that they will finally let that go and leave the Bates alone for a while.

The Dowager was a hoot, as usual. I hope she's a central figure next season. She's definitely a highlight.

I got teary eyed when Carson asked Mrs. Hughes to marry him. Very well done scene.

I rather enjoyed Rose's father-in-law getting into trouble with Rose coming to his rescue. Those scenes were priceless. Mary is becoming more of a biotch, but she did well covering that debacle.

I think she's going to stroke out over Edith's child. Robert was certainly good about that, though, and I do hope that they put Mary in her place if she throws a hissy fit or it brutal to poor old Edith.

Sprat was a jerk, as usual. The Dowager acting as if the chicken broth was tasty was funny and Sprat's reaction was even better.

That was awesome

Really tired of her act. Was glad she put Barrow to good use though

Sprat is a straight up strange ahole.

Good news Gris...it looks like they killed the plot of Anna in prison.
At least in my opinion.

All in all, a good finale to salvage a sorta lackluster season. Even if the only thing missing from the very end was them singing "Auld Lang Syne" to make it a "It's a Wonderful Life" ending.

I sure hope you're right, WS! It was difficult to pay attention to that storyline.

So, will Mrs Hughes and Carson be with child when we next visit Downton?

Will Barrow be straight?

Will the Mrs Crawley be married or engaged again?

Will the Dowager move to the States?
Maggie Smith says she's done after next season.

Will Spratt fall in love with Denker and happily eat her crappy chicken broth?

Did Mary murder Mr. Green?

Thank you for the visual of Hughes and Carson having sex now.

No.

I think Isobel chickened out. But having said that, Lord Merton should have just disinherited his sons, and poof, problem solved for Isobel.

I honestly thought they were going to go that route for a little bit there...but maybe next season. Denker and Spratt. Love in the kitchen.

You know...that's interesting. Either the writers are just saying that one of his other victims did it, or maybe they will have a big reveal next season. Me personally think the former. The way they made a point to mention his other victims.
Plus, Mary is a bitch. She needs some prison time.

Makes sense. What more can they really do to get more than another season out of the show?

I wanted her to marry the doctor.

Ok, answer this question for me, if Robert dies, who is the next Lord of Downton? Not sure if they mentioned that or not during the course of the show but would Tom be next in line since he is the Son in Law? I'm asking because I was sure they were going to kill him off in the last episode.

You are correct, thank you for reminding me. I'm assuming they'd have a steward of some sort until he comes of age.

Okay just dropped by to ask about the Season.

Sounds like there is more going on in Downton than Season 4?

It was a pretty slow season. Very disappointing compared to other seasons.

The finale was good, but some of the storylines this year were meh. Overall, I still enjoy the show.

They are being coy about whether next season will be the last, so I suspect money is being discussed at a number of levels. The Brits are usually good about shutting a show down before running it in the ground and milking every last nickel at the price of quality. That said, the American money on the table for this show is probably making it a different story, so they may wring out more than one more season.
