This is for the non-BBC watchers. So no spoilers for those who have already watched the season.

First episode tonight at 9/8 CT.

Bates gonna murder someone this season. I can feel it

Tuning in, but I don't even remember what the cliffhanger was from last season's finale.

Already seen the season but will probably watch some of it again. IMO it's better than Season 4.

I was having a hard time staying focused and lost interest in the episode about halfway through.

I've come to the realization that nothing happens in this show.

i enjoy watching the show because its awesome to see the old world try to keep certain tradiions while the new world with technology and more populous based political movements is forcing its way into the equation

i really dont give a shite about the plot lines

Did anyone watch the 1-hour special that played after the episode?

It was a show featuring one of the historian that works on set making sure that all of the gestures, manners, etc., are appropriate for the time.

Fascinating view into what was appropriate for manners, clothing, dining, dating etiquette. Explains a lot of very subtle things on the show--would've been useful as a primer after the first episode of season 1!

first world war has gone by, now the depression and the brown shirts are gathering in Berlin..

but yea, it's weird how little sense this show makes.

I mean, it's the Roaring 20s in America, meanwhile at Downton Abbey...
