The Bible mentions "watchers", who are fallen angels cast in stone bodies. It also mentions that "there were giants in the earth in those days." The director thought that meant giant stone monsters I guess.

Stone Giants help Noah build the ark?

They have good, big, strong hands. Why wouldn't they help?

Does he seriously wear blue jeans?

I originally wanted to see this movie, but every single thing I've heard is how bad it is.

With the renewed interest in the story, it's amusing that no one mentions how big of an a-hole god is.

Wow at the tools in this thread. Maybe he didn't like it because the movie was shitty. It doesn't have to be a religious debate.

Well considering the company....If you mention taking a shite in a manner not normal it sparks a religious debate

Well make sure you know the demographic of the people who are telling you. Old testament believers probably won't like it

Everybody I know that's seen it says it's awful.

I've only heard great things about it. I plan on seeing it this weekend. Stone giants and blue jeans in no way deter me. The stone giants actually sound pretty cool and make me want to see it more.

Did they have any kangaroos in the movie? I've always wanted to see Noah leading the kangaroos onto the ark, not sure why but there is something compelling about that image.

These kinds of stories were handed down by word of mouth over so many generations. Like the game "gossip", there is a very good chance that things got changed along the way. and perhaps things are more legend now than fact. However, people can still be mindful of what the legend stands for and take meaning from such. No, there were not a whole lot of details of the story of Noah in Genesis, so it would not surprise me that Mr. Abrams took artistic license to flesh things out. Keep in mind that the movie is simply telling a story and it is not meant to be a historical documentary. That said, the story can always inspire one to go back and read the Biblical account for themselves.

I will probably wait until it comes out on DVD. I have a 60" screen in the den, and can enjoy the movie there with the concessions I want, dressed like I want, etc. If the girlfriend and I decide to get naughty during the movie, no one's going to call the cops. We can always pause, do our business and then return to the movie at another time.

Is this a great country or what?

Are you hippie old or "get off my lawn" old?

And in regards to the OP, you will not get any serious debate about the film with the comments you made.

From everything I've heard, it's not a bad movie. Normally everything Aronofsky is pretty good, IMO.
