Does anyone use Audible

I feel like this app has probably been discussed but I couldn't find a thread and hope this is the right board
Is this the best app or medium for audio books?
I spend a lot of time on the computer or driving for work so this would be good for me. I thinks its like 15 a month but you get one free book a month.
I feel like I could spend way more than id like by going through a book every couple days.

I use it and have had a subscription for a few years. It's a great app, and they have pretty good deals every now and then (2 for 1 books, 3 credits for cheap, stuff like that). But I do find myself low on credits sometimes when I go for a shorter book (8-12 hours).
I believe there is some kind of Amazon kindle/audible subscription that's $9.99 a month that might let you listen/read to unlimited amounts, you just don't own the books. However, I haven't done any research on that to see if it's a good deal or not.

I have the Kindle subscription you reference, yeah it is $9.99. You get many titles "free" and you get discounts on many others. I have used Audible as well, and they are both great, I just use the Kindle subscription because I have a Kindle.

I do. Primarily use it on iPhone when commuting. I use my credit each month on the more expense book I want to listen to, usually newer books. I still pay (discounted since I joined) for the others. I can't make purchases through iPhone/Amazon app though. Have to make them from CPU.

I use it and like it a lot. I am on the 2 credit per month plan and use them easily.

Been using it since 2013-2014. It's by far the best/easiest way to listen to audible books across multiple devices (PC or phone). Their selection is also much better than iTunes. I travel for work as well and couldn't recommended it enough especially if you work in business or sales and use that time to hone your skills or acumen.

You must be a helluva salesman because I'm sold!
Haha I think I'll get it. I have 8+hr road trips and spend 10hrs a day at a desk so it will be nice to have. Does suck you can't purchase through app

Yes, great to listen to driving home, fighting traffic.

yep use it almost every time I'm making a long drive by myself, I used another app before too I can't remember what its called but this is my favorite, doesn't buffer to much and you don't have to wait for the whole book to download to star listening.

I'm not sure why he can't order from the Audible app. I only order/use credits through the app.

I do. I have 20 audio books I've never listened to.

Yeah, I like it. Audible runs great sales every once in a while - I've bought 25 - 30 audio books for less than $4.00 each.
If you quit after the trial they will make you an offer to continue for a few months more at half price.
It comes in handy with all my travel, including some long drives.
Don't pay full price for an audiobook unless it's one you can't live without. I've never paid more per book than the monthly credit.

Sitting on lunch right now listening to my all time favorite book. Lamb: The Gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood best friend. By Christopher Moore

Been a member for a few years. I don't listen to anything else in my car, unless it's football season...
I read the entire Malazan series a few years ago and I supplement my credits with those books. Each one is between 28 and 40 hours of listening. They only cost $3.99 for each since I bought the books for my Kindle. When you join, check out your Kindle library of purchased books. If there is one that you'd like to check out again, it might be at a discounted price and you won't have to use your monthly credit.
Don't know what I'd do withouth Audible.
