i was thumbing through Netflix earlier and came across this, the description seemed interesting so I started to watch it...wow.

I'm probably late to the party on this because it was made in 2008, but if you've never heard of it you need to watch it.

Without spoiling too much, it's about a guy who was murdered and his accused killer(the mother of his unborn child) fled to Canada and successfully fought extradition...there is more to the story but you'll need to watch it.

It's crushing.

ETA... I had absolutely NO idea whatsoever of what was going to happen in this film when I watched it.

It's awesome.

Definitely not for the faint of heart, and it will make you literally hate a person you've never heard of in your life. I know it's brutal (and it fricking is), but the end with the parents is so incredibly uplifting and heartwarming. It's truly a great documentary, and although some parts are fricking maddening, the ultimate message behind the film is great.

It's a must watch IMO, although it's likely rougher on you if you have kids of your own.

It was haunting. It's an example of true evil living on the earth.

Wow. Shocking to see this here because I literally just Googled the title after watching. I just finished it because I've always been too afraid. Cried a lot and feel very strange now.

What a heartbreaking story.

For me I had never heard of the story in the news, so everything was a surprise/shock

I was more pissed at the 2nd female judge who granted bail and said that she wasn't a danger to society as a whole.

This board prepared me to be infuriated with the woman involved, and I was still profoundly affected.

SPOILERS

As I watched it, I kept thinking that the thing to which people were referring was that, through some legal miscarriage, this woman was walking free and still had custody of the child. When I saw that it was a murder/suicide, it was like a slap in the face.

That idiot judge is the person who made all of this possible. To rule that the crazy bitch was not a danger to others was the depth legal incompetence, and I hope this weighs on her and eats her up until the day she dies.
