How is that depressing? Some people like living in the sticks.
Yeah but a movie theater HOURS away?
Most smaller towns still have at least ONE small movie theater. Or if they don't...a neighboring town does. I could see living an hour away from a town that has a theater....but HOURS??!

it's just that the dialogue took me out of the movie. It just felt forced to me. It felt like somebody should be hitting the symbol after every single line.
That is my concern going into seeing it. I haven't yet, but will likely buy it this week and watch it this weekend.
I remember bringing this up in a DP thread a while back, and asking if all of the jokes felt as forced as some of the promos did, and people said that's kinda his schtick.
That being said, I'm still punped to see it though.

You will enjoy Deadpool.
My husband had commented how dumb all the previews on tv looked for it, because of the jokes they showed on the previews. Then saw all the great reviews and decided maybe we should go check it out.
We both loved it and went to see it a second time in the theaters.

FWIW, I do think I will like it. That was just one of my concerns was how forced all of the jokes and one-liners felt in some of the promotions (not all though...some of them were great).

Yeah it was on here earlier this week. I had to hang my head when he made the "coaster" comment, because I do still love to buy DVDs.

Yeahh, you are right. Now I want to know where OP lives.

He also called it a "cinema".
Theory: He's living in a small town trapped in a time bubble. It is still stuck in the 1930s inside. He has to exit the bubble to get on an internet machine and comment on TD.

My husband now mainly saves it for movies that he really enjoyed. But...$20 the week they are released and you get the bluray/dvd/digital copy combo. Not bad imo.

Some folks think the sprawl is depressing as frick.
The sticks are fine, but there is a difference between "the sticks" and being 100 miles from a movie theater. Even Mayberry had a movie theater.

A very small town in Alabama, no Wal-Mart or McDonald's either except 30 miles away.

But there is a Starbucks or some sort of coffee shop somewhere right?
Please tell me there is at least one of those(even the ones inside a grocery store).

I'll take a stab:
Black, Alabama
Black, Alabama

I only made it through 20 minutes. I just couldn't take all the witty one liners. I will probably force myself to sit through it all at some point to see if it gets better.
I really enjoyed the movie but I totally get this experience. If you don't come in willing to suspend disbelief and with the right frame of mind you aren't going to be up for the dialogue or physical comedy.
I think it is a good movie for what it tries to do - in its own way it might be almost as good as say the original Reeves' Superman. It pretty nearly perfectly matches the comic book character and puts it on screen.

Even if, the closest theater is only like 30 minutes away.
