The rise of Christopher Nolan as a filmmaker has been a fascinating one. The guy is, undoubtedly, one of a very few number of directors who have the clout to make pretty much whatever they want. At a time when Steven Spielberg has trouble gathering financing for his projects, the combination of Christopher Nolan’s unfailing box office success and high critical praise makes him a low-risk prospect for any major studio, even if you’re greenlighting a budget of say $165 million for an original sci-fi epic.

As a result of Nolan’s razor sharp focus and, starting with Batman Begins, consistent success with general audiences, he’s become one of the most beloved filmmakers working today. Nolan has so much clout that he pretty much saved film photography from being rendered obsolete by digital. So given the importance, talent, and impact of Nolan, it feels prudent to look back on his filmography as a whole. In what format, you ask? Well by ranking each and every film from worst to best, of course. Behold, Christopher Nolan movies ranked.

I haven't seen much of the third batman film or any of Insomnia or Following. So, with that, I still have:

1. Memento

2. Inception

3. Interstellar

4. The Prestige

5. The Dark Knight (or, Joker: The Movie)

then, meh.

ETA: FTR, the first 4 are in the order I saw them. I admit that may have biased my ranking - and I've only seen Interstellar at the cinema, and the others only on the small screen.

Do not copy and paste near full articles. Just a teaser text.

The Dark Knight wasn't even a good movie. The third act was all over the place, rife with plot holes, boring, and borderline unfollowable. Batman Begins is actually a good flick. It had the better villain and better actor as well.

I'd say:

#1 Prestige
#2 Inception
#3 Interstellar
#4 Batman Begins
#5 Memento

Everything else.

Ok, is this is a new thing? I've always seen people post full articles on here.

I try and delete it when people do it. It's illegal and could get the site in big trouble. Don't do it. Fair use allows a teaser, but the whole article is ridiculous. The web lives off of clicks.

Batman Begins of course should be higher-strictly based on Bale's performance(His only great turn as Batman)...

It isn't crap. It is overrated, though. Pretty much true for all Nolan films.
