I also think he burns himself in his partnership with Rothstein in the heroin business before it's over with too.

Was Libya the only country at some point in Africa? I'm not really sure I understand how Libyan can be used to describe any person of color. It's kind of funny to me when he says it.

not sure either

Libya used to be under Italian control back in the early 20th century.

I think Liberia and Ethiopia were the only truly independent countries in Africa in the 1920s. South Africa was somewhat independent but was a dominion of the UK still at the time. They weren't truly independent until the 30s. Egypt kinda had the same deal as well until the 50s. Libya gained independence in the 50s also and pretty much everybody else was 1960. I hope I remembered my African history correctly.

you're right, but I guess I was posting to show that Libya wasn't this all encompassing territory. It's geographically only a little bigger than present day.

Could he be talking about Liberia?

LINK

That's the wiki of the guy who Narcisse is based off of.

quote:

He donated a great deal[citation needed] of his revenues towards charitable purposes such as building dormitories at Black colleges, as well as financing many of the neighorhood's artists, writers, and poets during the Harlem Renaissance. He bought the mortgage on the New York hall of the United Negro Improvement Association and allowed it to continue to be used as a Black function hall when the Marcus Garvey organization collapsed. He also helped establish a Baptist school in Liberia and established a hurricane relief fund for his native Virgin Islands. He was a regular contributor of articles to the NAACP newspaper the Crisis.

maybe. But I would think you'd call them Liberian like the Michael Jackson song.

Liberians.

I see where you're going with that, but you really can't mistake "Libyans" with "Liberians."

HBO is going to have an insane 2014 lineup with GOT, Boardwalk, and True Detective making its debut.

Harrow had a job to kill several people and it brought him back home. He ended up not killing the last one. Anyway, his sister is knocked up but her husband died. And this other guy is trying to wife her. It seems Harrow has also lost his bloodlust unless it comes to his survival. IE - he doesn't seem to be killing to pay the bills anymore. I expect that to change.
