Billions on Showtime

Watched the premier last night, I like financially themed movies/shows and also like Paul Giamatti. I thought it was a good episode, lays out the season very well.
Giamatti is a US Attorney in NYC and gets a tip from SEC to go after a hotshot billionaire over insider trading. Giamatti's wife is the billionaire's in-house shrink so there is that conflict of interest to run all season.
Overall it seems like it will be an interesting show. I think it will be great for one season, but curious how the show will continue once the billionaire case is (presumably) resolved one way or another.
I also though the sexual references in the beginning and end seemed odd. It's like they felt the show needed some sizzle so they make Giammatti and his wife have some kind of closeted BDSM action. Seems forced.

Can they keep David Constabile from being on Suits? I HATE him on Suits. Absolutely hate him. Alway screwing with the firm.
But, to his credit, I guess that means he's doing his job as an actor, right?

Second episode was up on Comcast on demand... I think it's on Showtime's site as well....
Dang good episode.
So far, really good show.

Watched it on demand then rewatched with the wife. Looks like the next great series. Absolutely loved it. You might want to put "Spoilers" in the title since you're revealing that it was his wife in that opening BDSM scene. On the first watch, I didn't catch the exchange between him and his wife at the end so didn't realize it was his wife in the opening scene. Caught it on the rewatch. Found it weird and unnecessary initially, but then the reveal with the wife at the end opens a whole new can or worms, particularly given her profession. Though I kinda think it may have been more interesting if it weren't his wife. This series will be amazing. I also just finished Band of Brothers, so I was excited to see Damian Lewis in his role.

I will admit the acting is great and the show is well shot. However, I dont think I can get into this plot. Is someone going after insider trading going to be a thrilling 10-12 hours of television? I find the whole interaction kind of boring, despite their best efforts to "jazz it up."
its gotten great reviews, so it seems to fit some peoples cup of tea. just plays like MSNBC droll to me so far.

In the first episode we learn that Giamatti's character prosecuted an old family friend and now has his eye set on the very man who employs his wife. Maybe a bit contrived for dramatic effect?
Show looks promising but I hope the scripts become less obvious.

Very enjoyable show so far. You find yourself kind of rooting for Axe just because he gives zero fks and seems to always be one step ahead. That scene about changing the name of the building and subtracting 16 mil from the offer because of being fired as a caddy was awesome.

I thought it was a little cheesy but will continue to watch. Decent pilot episode.
