Yeah he is, but conservatives who watch him and get upset are as stupid as liberals who watch O'Reily or Coulter and get pissed.

I don't agree with most of his politics, but Religulous was a great movie. I laughed my arse off. It's absolutely amazing to me how people try to defend organized religions....not really trying to start a religious discussion, I just really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anyone.

My problem with his view on religion is that he doesn't just promote his view, but publicly asks that others come to his way of thinking.

actually ive seen interviews with him on larry king where he says hes not an atheist, he believes there is a god he just doesnt believe in religion. if i remember correctly he said hes more of a deism.

I am similar in that I am agnostic and know that there is really no good evidence either way on the existence of any "higher power" (although I do really lean towards being an atheist). And I said I didn't want to get into a religious discussion....sucked in again

I haven't seen it yet..seen the previews..have no desire to see it. Maher is descent on his show..but his stand up is an hour long "political if you don't agree with me you're stupid rally"....I use to like Politically Incorrect though.
It's one thing to come off like an a-hole and be funny (Anthony Jeselnik, Norm McDonald)..but when he comes off like an a-hole...there's just not much funny about it...you usually need a punchline on a joke if you are going for that form of comedy.
