I'm in and may I say that I will use the same criteria but in reverse and now disregard your opinion with regard to TV.

Be honest, MIMYM got very stale towards the end
Of course. I don't know a single loyal viewer that wasn't disappointed towards the end.
But HIMYM is 100x the show BBT is. Like, they're not even comparable.

Screw all of you. Penny/Kaley is hot. That drew me in and the writing is chuckle worthy. It's a poor mans Friends. Nothing more.

no you don't, it's not a poor man's friends.
It's basically a remake of 2 guys, a girl, and a pizza place only with nerds.

My parents like this shite and they can't believe I don't like it. I lie and say, "I know it's a good show, it's just not my thing." In reality the show is not good.

my mom likes it too. I don't know a single person under the age of 40 that watches it, much less likes it.

Just my .02....but
The "lifespan" on any show is based upon the "stories"'of the show. Once the show turns more toward the "relationships" between the characters rather than the situations the characters are in, it begins it's downward spiral.
I always thing of Moonlighting, which was a detective show with and interesting dynamic between Cyril shepherd and Bruce Willis. When the relationship of those two became more important than the detective stories, once it was consummated the show died.
BBT always had the Penny-whatever his name is deal, and the other three character were funny. Now that it's all relationships, not so much

I'm 33. I've watched this show for the majority of its run. I enjoy it, and I really enjoy the nerd humor. I don't care what you think about that.
If every show was Breaking Bad, tv would be a boring place.

I'd rather get buttfricked dry by Chuck Lorre than watch another fricking episode of HIMYM where Barney explains something "bro-ey".

I like it, always have.

By no means am I trying to be a dick. But it always makes me laugh when people make the knee jerk statement of "I don't watch dramas like BrBa, Mad Men or The Wire". As if the only options on tv are BBT or theses dramas. I could list 30+ comedy series that blow BBT out of the water.
The only reason BBT gets so much pub is because it's on network TV. Which in the day of streaming & premium. Crappy sitcoms on major network tv are slowly getting kicked to the curb. Thank goodness.

Wife and I, as well as most of my friends watch it and love it. We are all under 35. Wife says its like being married to me. The nerd jokes, Doctor who references, all of it is fun.
Spoilers
This past episode, they asked wil Wheaton (from Star Trek) to go see Star Wars with them. He showed up in star fleet uniform and started ripping the crowd while getting booed. Told everyone to "live long and suck it". It was funny.

My wife and I enjoy the hell out of this show. We are 28 and 26.
There are a lot of shows I don't like. That being said i don't go to threads about those shows and shout from the mountain tops how shitty they are. I actually understand that people can have different opinions on things. May not be a show you enjoy but it's pretty obvious it isn't a shitty show, even though you may think it is.

I'm a fan and have been since the beginning.
I also watched Breaking Bad all the way through and thought it was great. Same with The Sopranos, Frasier, Cheers, and can't wait until Better Call Saul returns.
Some of you sure are really miserable that you would waste your time complaining about a show you hate, don't watch, or haven't watched in seven years.
