Better twist- usual suspects or sixth sense?

I think the concept of the sixth sense twist was better, because it was right there before our eyes the whole time.
The reveal scene for usual suspects was better and more elaborate.
Slight lean towards sixth sense as best surprise ending of all time.
edit- after reconsideration, i'll still take Sixth Sense as #1, but bump usual suspects down to #3 and say the prestige is the 2nd best surprise ending I've seen.

I love the usual suspects but the reveal invalidated the whole movie.
So I'm going with 6th sense
So I'm going with 6th sense

Agree that the sixth sense twist worked into the rest of the story perfectly.

100% this. There were clues about The Sixth Sense reveal throughout the entire movie. The Usual Suspects twist came out of nowhere. The Sixth Sense is a superior movie with a much better twist ending.

There were clues about who some were throughout the film. The gold lighter, the name soze translates to verbal, in the gunfight every pov from some is immediately followed up with a shot of verbal, kint says he killed Keaton during part of the interrogation, the order of envelopes given is the same order they die in.

Obviously not all are in your face clues

So the reveal doesn't invalidate Sixth Sense? I mean, the kid did a good job, but the movies don't really really compare on a quality basis. Usual Suspects is a GOAT candidate. Sixth Sense just sort of falls into the category of "interesting twist."

I find myself disagreeing. When I was 18 Usual Suspects seemed like the coolest movie ever, but it's kind of in tryhard territory for me now.

6th Sense gave it away too soon.
When he's shouting at his wife outside and she doesn't even notice him as she's talking to another dude.
And then of course the anniversary dinner ruined it.
So by definition, the better twist is probably Usual Suspects because it's not a slow-build but just a dramatic twist...which some people hate and think it's a cheap trick.

Usual Suspects by far. I knew the twist in Sixth Sense 5 minutes into the movie. I hadn't seen any spoilers, only knew that there was a twist. Ruined it for my wife and kid too.
Usual Suspects is the GOAT ending.
ETA: "There never was an Aaron" is #2.

Dude, the word "Soze" literally translates to "verbal" and his lighter is the same one used in ALL the Soze flashback scenes.

The Prestige

because the entire story Verbal told was a lie. It doesn't necessarily invalidate the movie, but it invalidates the events you just watched.

nobody notices those intricate details while watching, just like nobody picked up on the color red being a tip-off in the sixth sense.
the brilliance of sixth sense was in the opening scene and the "I see dead people scene". It was right there in our faces from the start.

Even if 100% a lie (which I don't believe - obviously he was adlibbing details, but that doesn't mean the overall structure of events wasn't consistent with the evidence), movies are lies. They're "stories" baw.

Maybe while watching the first time. There is an entire cult around Lynch's Muholland Drive. Is that movie "invalid" as well?
