Worst: Battle of the Bulge & sorry but Thin Red Line was horrible. Non realistic, faux intellectual bullshite, a true diservice to all that served there, American & Japanese.

I applaud you Sir. I couldn't have summed it up better.

It has a great cast

And has a number of people who participated in the battle among the cast.

In particular, Richard Todd (who played Major Howard) - was a captain in the parachute infantry, and linked up with Todd at the bridge in the real battle. So, when he (Todd, as Howard) delivers the line, "..the Paras are always late" - he's talking about himself, in the most literal sense possible.

The Dam Busters (very British but very good)

Supposedly Peter Jackson is set to make a new Dam Busters but it has been put on hold till after the Hobbit.

Das Boot

Watched this with my grandfather when I was younger. He said it was the best representation of what he did while serving in the N. Atlantic on a destroyer escort.

My favorites:

A Bridge Too Far: way underrated film and surprisingly a good amount of stars. Maybe not surprising but it was to me and OP Market Garden doesn't get enough props. frickin monty.

Patton: cause patton kicks arse

Longest Day: duh

Saving Private Ryan: ""

Big Red One: classic

Memphis Belle: Need a modern day film about the 8th airforce that isn't hollywooded to shite like Red Tails. Can't wait till the new series

Enemy at the Gates: It's not bad

Midway: Love this damn movie

Torah Torah Torah: classic

Where Eagles Dare: Just saw this recently and god is it awesome

Das Boot

U-571: Not the best but I still liked it

Didn't mean to undersell it but it drives me nuts, stupidly I admit, that all the russians have british accents and ed harris is a german

I kinda wanna watch the russian flick Stalingrad but it got bad reviews so idk. Hollywood needs to dump a ton of money into a Stalingrad movie but with it not involving the west I doubt it happens but god does it deserve a bad arse budgeted film. It could be Michael Bay's wet dream...

Definitely!

I am surprised no one mentioned Memphis Belle before me. I watched that movie 100s of times as a kid. That, A Bridget Too Far, and Saving Private Ryan have to be my favorites along with the newly added Where Eagles Dare

Not mentioned yet and one of my favorites:

"The Counterfeiters"

True story of The Nazis taking the best Jewish counterfeiters and trying to collapse US and British economies by making millions in counterfeit money. It started off as them just trying to fund the war.
