watched Braveheart again the other night and can't get this piece of music of out my head. it's the scene where wallace is about to get his head chopped off and he sees his wife wandering amongst the crowd.

The one that always gets me is Figaro(?) playing whilst Connery is bleeding to death and Al Capone is being moved to tears in Untouchables.

Adagio For Strings

Maybe the saddest, most reflective piece of classical music ever.

The two that popped to mind first are both John Barry scores.. Out of Africa (#1) and Dances with Wolves (#2).

Love the Ride of the Valkyries scene with Robert Duvall, in Apocalypse Now.

No love for Purple Rain? Easily the best score ever written for a movie. The whole soundtrack is the greatest.

The Fountain. I pretty much love this movie based entirely on the soundtrack.

I won't try to say it's the best movie music ever, but I the part in Return of the King where Pippin sings "Edge of Night" while it keeps cutting between the king eating and the battle.

Gotta nominate some Ennio morricone - The Mission

The Mission Medley -

To me, this is some of the most beautiful music ever set to a film. Fits the movie perfectly.

This version done live in Venice.

To Kill a Mockingbird this is such a beautiful/chilling/emotional score. My favorite of all time.
