I'm a big fan of parody comedies when done right. Probably from watching Airplane!, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, Monty Python, etc in my youth.

Not Another Teen Movie (2001) is brilliant IMO. It hits on all almost all of its target genre movies from late 70s to late 90s. It's a low scoring RT/Metacritic masterpiece. Same as Step Brothers and others.

Walk Hard is so under appreciated. It is the perfect spoof of every rock n roll biopic. One of the most quotable movies of all time

The Other Guys is terrific. It's funniest moments can compete with any movie.

The Hang Over has lost some luster because of the sequels, but the first, unspoiled watch in the theatre was the hardest I've laughed at a movie since the Naked Gun.

I didn't think The Hangover was that funny.

Tropic Thunder is my favorite

I think Wedding Crashers is terrible. The movie starts with Vince & Owen being two pump-and-dump alphas, but then Owen gets oneitis for Rachel, orbits her and basically stalks her the rest of the movie, and that ruins the entire movie. In real life, Rachel would have NEVER dumped Alpha Bradley for Beta Creep Owen in the end, he would have been thrown in jail and a restraining order would be issued. Would have been better if the movie was simply the Wedding Crashing part.

I do like that one. Saw it for the first time in years a little while back and didn't realize the main character was Captain America.

Shaun of the dead might be my favorite.

Edit- it's probably the "smartest" comedy I've seen this century

Are you really complaining that a comedy movie wasn't realistic enough???

No way Tropic Thunder would be made today. RDJ'S character shows how much has changed and how fast.

Those two movies are very different kinds of offensive. I Was actually watching Tropic Thunder tonight and had a conversation about if they could make that same movie today
