Actually in period pieces I am pretty forgiving as long as they try to capture the feel of the period. I am far less forgiving of recent history that they screw up on technical aspects. Using US tanks for German ones, wearing Vietnam Helmets/Uniforms for WW II. The air combat portion of Pearl Harbor was laugh out loud horrible. Take a movie like Memphis Belle, was it perfect, no but they tried and in Pearl it was bullshite Hollywood BS.

my favorite though is when 1st Cav, "Air Cav son" attacks Charlies point with the Wagner blaring.

We Were Soldiers

Several really great battle scenes in that one. "Lay me down, in the cold, cold ground. Where many men, have gone before ..."

Chills.

Also, Blackhawk Down.

Can't disagree with number 1. Others that weren't mentioned would be the final battles in Platoon and Zulu.
