What are the best on-screen battle scenes in movies/TV?

IMO:

1. Saving Private Ryan-D-Day invasion
2. Game of Thrones (the most recent one...no spoilers)
3. Braveheart-Battle of Stirling
4. Gettysburg-Battle of Little Round Top
5. Gladiator--opening battle sequence (Germania)

ETA: Honorable mention--Band of Brothers: Foy.
LOTR: Helms Deep, Pelennor Fields (Ride of the Rohirrim)

I think he meant the most recent battle on GOT not the most recent episode

Some good ones that haven't been mentioned yet:
The Last Samurai - final battle scene
Lord of the Rings - The Battle of Gondor
The Kingdom of Heaven - Siege of Jerusalem

Raw humanity. A true depiction of how disgusting and horrible battle really is.

I have 2 favorites in The Longest Day

1) The night glider attack on the Pegasus bridge
2) The mistaken and disastrous paratroop night drop into the middle of St. Mere Eglise

The D-Day landing sequences in The Longest Day were quite impressive, as were the battle sequences in Arnhem and Nijmegen during A Bridge Too Far.

You'd be hard pressed to exclude the battle sequences from Waterloo (1970).

How about Pearl Harbor in the original "Tora! Tora! Tora!"?

Pearl Harbor in Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor was pretty good.

Very, very poorly filmed. Those stutter shots are cringeworthy
