I would say that DiCaprio is my favorite actor under 40.

I say under 40 to get at a certain generation of actors, not your Robert Redfords.

ETA: And yes, this was inspired by Brad Pitt thread.

Are you asking for best or favorite??

I'm not a DiCaprio fan, but I think he's the best under 40... I'm sure he'll be a multi-Oscar winner by the time he's done.

he hasn't won an Oscar yet, and he's been robbed plenty of times

Leo's career kind of reminds me of Jack Nicholson's career pre-1975. Nicholson was making a ton of good films but failed to win an Oscar the first four times he was nominated. It's only a matter of time before Leo wins an Oscar. He just needs to wins one and then the floodgates will open up for him IMO.

Really? I find him absolutely horrible at acting. Which is weird, because I love him in comedy situations (certain movies or SNL). Did ya'll think he was good in In Time? Because he (and Seyfried) was atrocious.

I like the Ben Foster nomination. He's good. And surprisingly no JGL yet. Leo is also good.

Which is under 40. I don't get your point.

The best actors out there act right up to their 60's and start around their 20's. The mid point there is 40.

I'm looking for someone who has not just made a splash, but has been a good/great actor for a little while.

Good actors could have made that movie something.

Can we include actresses?

Jennifer Lawrence

She has done good things outside of the Hunger Games (Winters Bone and Silver Linings Playbook)
