BOF has always been good at getting quality info from early screenings.

quote:

*Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor are the standouts as has been previously reported.

* This new Batman is brutal and doesn't hold back.

* The portrayal of Lex is a very modern take on the character. He's completely two-faced and the trailers don't do him justice.

* Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince is great, but her role is quite small.

* All references to future JUSTICE LEAGUE characters is handled very well and the film doesn't feel crammed or rushed – the 2.5 hours flew by!

*The film is really dark – maybe even darker than Chris Nolan’s Batman films. It's definitely darker than MAN OF STEEL. It’s closer to WATCHMEN in my opinion than THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY or MAN OF STEEL

* The reason why Batman and Superman are against each other is handled in a very organic manner and there are some fantastic parallels drawn between these two very different characters.

* A LOT happens and screen time isn’t wasted!

* It's not what I expected; but having said that, its one of the reasons I'm dying to see it again (as are a couple of other people I know who've seen it).

I interpret it as mostly positive, although I worry that Superman is overshadowed. I'm glad DC is going in its own direction, but I hope they don't get too DARK for the general audience. All signs point to Affleck killing it.

This should be a non issue when you're dealing with an ensemble superhero cast. Civil War has a similar running time.

No doubt this will piss people off. But remember, we're dealing with Batman. He's suppose to be dark. This is NOT a solo Superman film.

Glad to see that one off the presumed worst things about the movie may turn out to be one of the best.

LOVE IT!

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far from this movie.

ETA: Damn dude. This thing is right around the corner!

I read another spoiler-free review from a reliable poster on a box office website who says Batman and Superman have close to the same amount of screen time. Ben Affleck's Batman might have had a little more, he says, but they were both the central characters.

So many people here are going to be sad to read this.

ETA: And two have already downvoted. Nice.

I actually thought the pick was fun initially and could work. Then the screenshots and trailers came out and Eisenberg looked awful. So this is good to hear.

As much as this is about BvS, honestly, I think Luthor has to work in this instance. He can't be a one-time villain, he can't be a simple villain. He has to be complex, he has to change, and he has to be unique.

This is good to hear. My main problem with Man of Steel was how terribly boring it was. I kept checking the time, waiting for it to end.

So this Batman is even more violent than Bale's? Works for me.

I don't mind this. the further away we get from the goofy campy Adam West Batman and Reeve superman, the better. Still boggles my mind that so many people actually want that garbage.

I can enjoy Reeve and West and still like a Watchman type Batman V Superman.

Agreed. I don't mind a new take on the character, as long as it's dynamic and evolving.

You didn't like the light-hearted, whacky fun of Superman 4? It challenges is audience with real deep questions like "are nuclear weapons bad?" and "does throwing hair into the sun create life?". Not to mention the heart racing action.

I had some non comic book friends mention this when they watch the trailers. We'll just have to wait and see.

I saw it in the theater and maybe once on VHS.

It's been so long since I watched it, when I came across it on cable recently I thought I'd discovered a Chris Reeve Superman movie that I'd never seen. Then Duckie from Pretty in Pink showed up and I turned the channel.

Reeve is the GOAT Superman and the first two movies are among the best superhero movies ever made.

Especially excited because none of the spoilers have been in the tornado-Pa-Kent or snap-Zod's-neck range. I went in to Man of Steel with extremely lowered expectations and it didn't help. Really looking forward to this.
