Do you know what you're arguing? Realize that Cyclops and Cap are cut from the same cloth.
You know I was just messing with you right? Hell Wolverine himself isn't a bad guy, just has been lied to and want to know who the hell he is. Oh and he's a baddddddddddddddddd mofo. Besides, he fought in more wars than Cap did anyways and he doesn't need to lead men or have men follow him like Cyclops does. He just claws everyone up who pisses him off.

Not really disproving my point. Well, I'm not sure you're trying.

It would really be great if the X-men stuff was taken to a different thread. I keep opening this one hoping somebody has a take on possibilities for the next Avengers movie.

cyclops doesnt NEED to lead or have people follow him
he's just the best leader and like a true leader recognizes its his duty to lead
to discount the leader of the most powerful group of people (mutants) on the planet shows your lack of comic book and actual intelligence

That'd be Charles Xavier, not Scott Summers.

fair enough
what i would like to see is the group get back together to fight another supervillain who pops up without initially revealing where he came from or his motive
they struggle to, but end up defeating this supervillian and in the process learn his only motive was to attempt to defeat or at the very least weaken and distract the avengers.
the avengers walk away from this information baffled as to why someone would just be there to weaken/distract them. and distract them from what?
then in the last moments of the movie Thanos appears and quickly beats the everliving shite out of the avengers . As the Avengers are bloody on the ground, Thanos reveals that why the avengers (including Thor) were dealing with the villain on Earth he was able to sneak into Odin's vault and retrieve the Infinity Gauntlet (cut to scenes of him doing this and crippling Asgard in the process).
As he nears the end of his revelation, one of the avengers grabs one of the futuristic shield weapons and attacks Thanos from behind. In the process the attacking Avenger is killed (i think it would have to be Nick Fury/black widow/hawkeye so that you dont lose any of the MAJOR characters).
After this, the Avengers get up and consider another attack, but Thor grabs Cap America and tells him they have to retreat and regroup bc of the power of the infinity gauntlet (which only Thor would know about).
The Avengers escape the area as Thanos gloats over the dead avenger. and is then seen tearing the area to shite.
We then see the Avengers regrouped in a secret facility trying to piece together what just happened.
Thor gives them a history of the infinity gauntlet and Thanos. Then Stark or Captain America gives a dramatic line and credits roll.
Leaving us begging for the third and final Avengers where they must face off with Thanos.
boner.
again, this is just what i would like to see
I'd also like to see another hero character added

Again, over the last decade of comics, Scott Summers has led the X-Men

Good plot.
Also, with the success, bite the bullet and shoot 2 and 3 at the same time. They NEED to do this. Especially for a storyline that should roll like this.

I wish they would do this. Marvel has proven to everyone and themselves that they have this movie thing down so its really not much of a gamble to film back to back. Avengers 2 was officially greenlit yesterday so hopefully they decide to go this route and we'll hear about part 3 as well.

i imagine logistically it would be easier to film one long movie and edit it into 2 than do two completely separate movies.
of course i have no fricking idea what goes into making a movie
but my sister in law worked on the last two twilight movies (altogether one book) and she was told they filmed it all at once because it was easier to just get it done at the same time rather than come back a year later signing new contracts with all the different people on the staff and cast
i'd love to see them release them 6 months apart as well

I haven't read the comics since the mid early 90's so this is the first I've heard of that. Fair enough then.

They filmed the LOTR of the trilogy all at the same time so this isn't a problem. The Matrix 2/3, Pirates 2/3, and HP7 were all filmed simultaneously so this isn't unheard of.
I don't mind The Avengers 2&3 being filmed simultaneously as long as they are separate stories rather than a part 1/2 type deal like HP7 was.

Hollywood politics are a bitch. Once filming gets started, it's relatively smooth sailing as long as no one involved lets their ego get in the way. Egos can delay, ruin, or even kill projects entirely.

it would be cool, but would have to be at least its own movie if not 2

I posted my idea for it on here. Have Thanos make a deal with The Skrulls that he will spare their planet from his wrath if they help him conquer Earth and basically be his mercenary army. They agree and commence their attack on Earth. Meanwhile they have their own back-up plan of infiltrating Earth's governments and intelligence agencies to find out all of Earth's superhero's identities.
Thanos's attack fails and the remaining Skrulls "flee" and my "flee" I mean they leave whatever battlefield they are on and assume civilian lives and such. This would open up the plot for The Avengers 3. Our heroes are protecting Earth, but are causing some serious damage in the process and S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't seem to be accountable to anyone. The public demands some accountability. So the undercover Skrulls in our government push for the Superhuman Registration Act. The group gets split among each side. Someone on the anti-side goes off (Hulk maybe?) and in the process of saving something or someone, destroys a lot of shite. This leads to the passage of it and the government tries to use the pro-side to make the anti-side comply. Shitstorm ensues. Meanwhile, the Skrulls are demilitarizing the Earth and siphoning off resources and such. Let Whedon or another screenwriter take it from there.

I vote no initially.
You would only change my mind if the storyline changed a bit. There's no way THE death of the storyline would work. He doesn't mean enough given the very overbearing personality of the other. It would be a laughable climax. In this universe.
It was catastrophic in the comics. Not so much here. It is a great storyline to start with though. It completely attacks are current modern mindset.
