My wife and I watched it over the course of about 3 days or so - finished it Saturday. It was really intense, well acted, just awesome in every way - but I really can't see it living up to that in season 2. Danny was such an integral part of everything that made it great.

Just watched the first two episodes. This show is fricking crazy. Probably gonna binge tomorow and Saturday to wrap it up.

I watched the first two last night and it definitely has me hooked on the "how the frick did we get HERE?".

I agree. On the other hand, it might also be wise to trust the showrunners.

Now that I finished it, I'm wondering why it took a week or two for this show to catch steam? HoC was an instant hit right?

eh... I wouldn't say "instant" - but it was created with extremely intelligent finances behind it. Netflix knew people were watching the British mini-series - Netflix knew that netflix watchers were head over heels in love with Kevin Spacey... they created a show with him as the show running and called it House of Cards.

Bloodline on the other hand... they know their viewers love Kyle Chandler (huge following of FNL on Netflix), the style of Damages and one of their more recent big hits has been Parenthood and Dexter... but they don't have a name recognition program of HoC - so they create a show with the atmosphere of Dexter, with some of the family aspects you see in Parenthood, Kyle Chandler and the writers of Damages. Bloodline is probably already hitting HoC levels of viewership - but bloodline is also suppose to be more of a slow burn if I had to guess.
