I have it queued up but haven’t listened yet, but I hear great reviews for Small Town Murder.

The OG true crime podcast called Serial about Adnan Syed is pretty good. I still haven’t decided if I think he did it or not.

Big fan of Sword & Scale.

If you want a little comedy sprinkled in you can check out Small Town Murder. Those same guys also do Crime in Sports which goes through the outrageous stuff that former players have done.

I can’t swear to the podcast because I haven’t listened to it yet. But the actual facts of the Toforrest Johnson case are incredible. The State of Alabama continues to try and kill him despite overwhelming evidence that he is in fact innocent.

https://abc3340.com/amp/news/local/hes-innocent-legal-experts-urge-us-supreme-court-to-review-alabama-death-row-inmates-case-toforest-johnson-murder-trial-crime

quote:

"The more I read, it's unbelievable a case like this ever went to a jury or that he was ever indicted," said Baxley. The former AG explains he first looked at the case at the urging of his son who is also an attorney. Baxley says he was initially skeptical telling us this is one of only three cases where he has felt the wrong person was convicted.

No forensic or physical evidence ties Johnson to the crime. The state presented five different theories on who shot Deputy Hardy. Johnson had alibi witnesses. Prosecutors failed to disclose a witness who claimed to overhear a phone confession was paid reward money. There were no eyewitnesses to the crime. The murder weapon was not recovered.

Casefile is great if you want to find out a lot about a specific crime that you're interested in, but boy it's hard for me to listen to new episodes that I don't know anything about.
