I had watched every episode of the series before this season. Halfway through episode one of this season, I quit. Got tired of the random sex scenes that served no purpose in the plot.

Is Hotel as bad as the others?

It once again couldn't decide on a singular plot to move forward with. Not that it has to have just one, but there was never really one that was attention grabbing. Not to mention this season was once again not very scary.

I couldn't do Lady Gaga. It's a big name, but I figured they would do random and unnecessary scenes to show how "shocking" they could be.

I really do hate it went to shite so quick. I held out hope that they could somehow recreate the first season, but instead they've rode the successes of season one too far.

I thought it started out ok, but ended up being terrible. Honestly I feel like each season starts out great and dies about 6 episodes in. I couldn't figure out why a lot of the storylines were included (all the Rudy Valentino bs and the Devils night crew of historic killers, ugh). How Gaga won an award for this is confusing as well. My statement when it was done was "thank god there's no more of that", but I did make it until the end.

Started off with a bang but went out with a fizzle.

I made it about 3 or 4 episodes before I quit. It was pretty terrible.

It started out with a bit of promise but went to shite in an instant IMO during the army of child vampires scene.

Pretty terrible... Started off promising as usual and quickly went to shite. I quit watching a few episodes in.

The SO watched it all the way through and it sounds like the ending was a huge "WTF, that is it...."

How long can Murphy live off of a single season of spectacular television

I wouldn't say a single season. Freak Show definitely had its moments.

It ended shitty and had some crap story lines, but Twisty and Dandy were just fantastic. Both of their single dedicated episodes were the best thing AHS has done so far.

Twisty was the main reason for hope in Freak Show. It just shows how clueless they are for killing him halfway through the season.

Nothing they've done compares to season one. It was so great that I continued watching three straight seasons of shite TV in hopes that it would somehow get back to that point. They fooled me through a stupid witch season. After one episode of this season with a misplaced sex scene, I couldn't do an entire season.

I Iiked it better than freak show. I hated Elsa Mars singing, and the bearded ladies fake accent. It does go in a lot of directions, but I don't mind. The storyline I like the best was the mystery murders of the seven sins killer. The least important to me where the child vampires, and Angela Bassett's role

I never finished. I last watched the episode where all the kids became vampires.

Overall I'd probably agree with your assessment. I actually thought Hotel was one of the better seasons of AHS, but to me it kind of lost steam over the last couple episodes, and the ending was pretty blah. It was definitely much better than Coven.

Hotel featured a lot of characters which was mostly a good thing. I thought in the past maybe the show focused too much on Jessica Lang's various characters.

Liz Taylor was a strong character and I thought Gaga did better than I expected. I also liked all the serial killers being featured especially James Patrick March.

not surprising, its how Ryan Murphy stretched out Nip/Tuck for as long as he did.

It's not as good as the first season but better than asylum or the coven. Overall I still like the series although they've got to find a way to make the end of the seasons not feel like they are dragging on forerever. Also would be nice if there was a big underlying plot like the first season instead of shite tons of random plot lines throughout.

Yep. Still trying to understand the aliens involvement in Asylum.
