Like most AHS seasons, started out promising and ran off the rails toward the end

huh, i thought this was the best season of the series. shows what i know.

I stopped watching after two episodes. It was just really bad.

I thought the ending of it was pretty strong.
There was a lot of good stuff. Denis O'Hare killed it as Liz Taylor. Evan Peters was great, especially with the old time accent and the moustache. Kathy Bates was good. Lady Gaga has an arse and a half.
But the series wasn't scary and didn't have much drive. Last season, Dandy and Twisty were legit threats. Things just kind of meandered along. And I couldn't freaking stand the serial killer cop.

I have no idea since I gave up on AHS after episode 1 of this season, but was Lady Gaga's performance really good enough to get the Golden Globe over Kirsten Dunst for Fargo?

I haven't watched the final episode yet, but 90% of the season was utter rubbish.

It was bad. I dont understand how this show keeps getting to make more seasons after these last 3.

Absolutely not. Dunst was great in Fargo. Gaga was just good in AHS.

AHS lost me with Coven. I was really excited for that season for a number of reasons; witches vs. voodoo, Marie Laveau, Delphine Lalaurie, The Axe Man of New Orleans. You have all of these cool elements that make you think "man, they understand New Orleans history. I can't wait to see what they do with it."
And the show turns out to be another hour long thinly veiled social commentary. Sprinkle in some nonsensical plot lines that neither further the main plot nor seem to go anywhere. I honestly don't know how this show keeps on being renewed.

I wouldn't bother I've watched the season twice to try and figure it out and got nothing. By far their worst season.
My ranking of the season would be:
Murder House
Freak Show
hotel
Witches
Aslyum
Story line was pretty good in freak show and I really liked some of the characters in hotel although it just kinda drug on at the end.
The witches were boring and what could have been awesome wasn't.
Asylum still doesn't make sense.
I think the show definitely suffers from such a good first season that I don't know if they'll ever live up to the hype it garnered.
Lady gaga was pretty good but probably not as good as the fargo girl. I haven't watched the newest season yet though so idk about fargo.
