This season water is a non issue since they are on a fresh water lake. Catching rainbow and brown trout. Down side is not as much sea life available such as crabs/mussels. I keep waiting for someone to build a legit large animal spike type trap. Or hell with that much time on your hand go sit your arse on a game trail for a couple hours a day with a spear.

Probably just edit that part out. Too bad too because I love watching me some water boil.
I don't know why, but this still cracks me up.

Welp, my boy Fowler delivered the spike trap. But it didn't deploy yet...
43 days in with 7 people left. However, spirits are starting to fade for sure. Hopefully the next 2 weeks get really interesting with looming tap outs.
For a shot at $500,000 in what seems to be 75 days max (as shown so far thru 2.5 seasons), they'd have to drag me out of there, dead-cold.

I think winter is about to hit hard and knock a few out pretty quick.
The lack of trapping always surprises me.

Yup... it doesn't appear at least as though any of them have been saving food, whether plants or fish.
They need to be out there fishing non-stop and smoking it into jerky to have some calories stored up for when they need them.
Another disadvantage to being on the lake instead of the ocean is a lack of debris... on Vancouver Island they were always finding trash on the beaches that could be useful.

2 great points there.
If anyone can get a boar & jerky the meat & most importantly-store it safely = they'll likely be the big winner.
I think the overwhelming availability of bamboo & all of its uses cancel out the washed up items factor from Vancouver Island. Although, getting some plastic water bottles can be a real game changer. Remember Alan using them to trap minnows to eat/bait?

Right, Alan was all over that. Plus they seemed like they were always finding rope/fishing line/floats that washed up. It also provided an abundance of edible seaweed, Alan was eating that stuff non-stop.
The one dude even found a large watertight container... could have easily turned that into a live well if he wanted to.

I'm not convinced that's going to kill a boar. Those things have some thick skulls. I would be shocked if he actually gets one with it.

I agree. It may stick one but it will run off. Now he may get a coon or opossum with it.
I know it has to be difficult to try and build a shelter, find food, set traps all in a days time Have to do a little of each each day I guess.
No one brought any netting like the past?

Finally caught up last night...
I love the shelters this group is producing. They seem to have learned from the fault of others
Really like Fowler but showing the constant contradiction in styles really showed how much energy he's burning.
This year seems to have quite a few hardened soles out there which could lead to easily breaking the record time out.

This spider bite woman really gets on my nerves for some reason. I don't find her interesting or funny in the least bit. I thought her antics last episode (faking like she was going to tap out) were over the top. I'm hoping she taps out this episode.

I can only imagine what kind of antics are filmed but don't make the show.
6 people left & they're all close to being out there longer than the winners of Seasons 1 & 2.
I'm looking forward to seeing more building & more creativity.

They've had it easy compared to Season 1. The Spider Girl is the Wild Card. If she sticks it out she'll unfortunately win IMO. I'm pulling for Greg though.

Trying to remember who all has tapped so far. I've got Dan (most recent), Zach (cut himself), black guy, and who is the fourth? I don't remember seeing Jim at all and I think it's been a while since I've seen Meghan(?).

Pretty sure it's been one each episode, spare the first one.
Posted on 1/14/17 at 4:30 pm to Pectus
Ok but who's the fourth one? I know three, 6 people are left

Ok, explains why I can't remember who he is then

I really dont like that Oregon hippy tree hugging no shaving spider chick. Unfortunately, she could win this thing. She hasn't had nearly as many struggles as her competitors.

Oddly, I kind of like her. She definitely knows her stuff, except for avoiding spiders.
I think if I was on any of these survival shows and had fire, I would burn the ground I was sleeping on asap. Cover it with wood and straw, burn it, then rake it clean. Seems like that would at least decrease the bugs in your shelter somewhat.
