Why aren't these people smart enough to build a wood drying shelter to stack firewood?
Fire & a shelter are paramount in this situation. If you get out there & start prepping, you're setting yourself up for a win right away.

I can't figure if they're saving the other contestants for Episode 2 or if those 5 just aren't good with/on camera that it was all terrible footage...

I thought the same thing. They each have two tarps I think. Also a shovel would be handy to dig a trench and channel water away from shelter.

Yeah. I know it's the first night and all, but surely they all watched last season to know you're going to be holed up and need fire in the shelter. Half the time, all you can do is go out and check your nets and then get right back in the hole. Half them are setting up tarps that the wind will take right out. I'm guessing the 5 or so we didn't see have their "scat" together.
