Were there no xenomorphs in Alien vs Predator? Those eggs were underground in Antarctica so they would have there for thousands of years. Does AvP stuff count as canon in their separate media universes?

I don't get the hate for these new films. I loved Prometheus. I wish they spent at least 20 minutes on David and Shaw, however. The first half of the movie I thought to myself "I don't care about these people. I want Shaw and David."

I'm with you guys on the many reasons listed. It was splatter gore clusterfrick. The trailers made a better movie.

One unquestionably great thing about Prometheus was the score. Scott poaching it for David's flute love song for Shaw was lame as hell.

Seen them all at the theater, saw it last night despite reviews to support and still hated it. Total regret.

Score: F

Fact.. While I was entertained enough to not hate the movie in a vacuum. It was highly disappointing when you group it with Prometheus

Of course not.

Agree 1000%.

Major disappointment in the fact that the alien was not killed by a Kenny Powers fastball to the skull.

But seriously, such potential to tell a great story to pull Prometheus and Alien together and nope.

I do not like the fact that everything now has to be rethought and centered around David and his shenanigans.

Looks like they're trying to milk this thing by having us wait for a 3rd movie for the "real explanation"

Because what they showed in Covenant doesn't match with what came before it as far as explaining anything.

Nice of that girl to get naked near the end, though. That was a pleasant surprise.

Alien covenant is top to bottom awful and actually has given me a more negative opinion of Prometheus

These alien prequels were a mistake. The mystery surrounding the crashed vessel on LV-426 was cool and knowing the details didn't serve the plot anyway

And that's the point of these movies...ugh. I thought Prometheus was something new and along the way aliens may play a role and you may get an explanation for something but I didn't think it was the purpose.

I agree. But I enjoyed this mistake much more than the rest.

I felt a bit of tension during the med bay scene where it rips open his back despite the frantic editing between the larger group, the ship and the med bay

The rest of the movie I was just waiting for the credits. It was pretty boring

It does make you question why David is wasting his time "evolving" facehuggers when the spores are much more efficient and breed (seemingly) much quicker growing and more vicious xenomorphs.

I disagree. david has 2 goals.

1. to wipe out humanity
2. to create something in its place

the white alien just kills people. it doesn't do anything to propagate the species. the egg system, the aliens seek out humans for purposes of procreation. in that form they're pretty perfect. 2 birds, one stone.

had they shown shaw for more than a half second it would have visually communicated some things about david's story in terms of what he was trying to achieve with his experiments. actually would've given him some depth. he doesn't want to hurt her but she has what he desperately needs.

how about that...a character making a choice that determines who he is.

Then what will really piss you off is Scott has said that the next installment (tentatively titled "Alien: Awakening") will be set between Prometheus and Covenant. And THEN, depending on the success of Covenant and the next installment, he may do 2-3 more before they back into Alien!

Link? I'd actually prefer a movie that fills in the gaps with Shaw. Guarantee the last scene of the trilogy is the birth of a Queen.

In our minds we both know this is just a bunch of recently concocted bs and I refuse to accept it. I know I can do it because I didn't accept Resurrection and often forgot about it tho if I watched it again it'll prob better than this.

Will perhaps accept AvP in the family before Scotts creation mumbo jumbo.
