Clive Owen: Classic classic action-thriller type look that has been vastly underutilized. Could have replaced Gerard Butler in any movie he's been in and probably done a better job.

Josh Harnett: I think his role in Pearl Harbor did him in for critics, but I loved Pearl Harbor and though Harnett was outstanding in it.

Brendan Fraser: The respsone I most agree with and actually feel guilty not staring thread about him- The Mummy franchise might have been panned critically, but I love both of the first two movies. I loved his turns in Monkeybone and especially Bedazzled.

I'm adding Will Patton- dude has serious chops, but unfortunately the films he best dispkays these chops in are two of the most panned films ever- Armageddon and The Motherfrickin Postman

Rob Lowe- Dude could be a way better Tom Cruise- literally every movie Tom Cruise has been in, replace Lowe and it would be a better movie.

Christian Slater- this is a perplexing one for me; I think Kevin Bacon stole his whole act since they look so alike, but Slater is at the very least an equal to Bacon in terms of acting.

William Fichtner is an incredible actor. I've always thought of him as a poor man's Christopher Walken. Another actor who had a great turn in the critically panned Armageddon.

Another actor who had an great role in The Postman. His role in Saving Private Ryan is beyond incredible; I think Ribisi's dying scene makes the whole movie.

One of my favorite actors. He's massively under appreciated.

For me

My biggest thing is he's got soooo much more depth than someone like Butler. As people mentioned he was incredible in Children of Men and has obviously had the action success in Sin City and Inside Man.

Butler would have been an epic disaster in Children of Men. Owen can do it all!

My favorite actor. Gets parts in great movies, but I want him to be the lead one of these days.

I guess Martin Freeman has been successful with the Hobbit, but I think he could be a good serious actor.

On that same not, I'm convinced Ricky Gervais could act above his schtick, but I can't fault him for his choices.

Also, Todd, from Breaking Bad, has unlimited-Matt-Damon-potential with his looks and demeanor.

Now his real-life personality might be a whole other issue, I don't know anything else he's been in.

Jonathan Brandis. It's a shame he killed himself. He was a pretty decent young actor. He should have won the part of Anakin over Hayden Christensen.

I had no idea he had died--just assumed his career fizzled out. He was good in Sidekicks with Chuck Norris. I don't remember much about it, just that it was entertaining when I was a kid.

All good choices so I'll say Ben Foster but maybe he is just perfect for the roles he gets

Martin Freeman is starring in Fargo on FX. Its been getting great reviews so maybe that will open more doors for him later on. Jesse Plemons is rumored for a role in the new Star Wars so that would obviously be huge if he gets it.
