1. Yoda says he's almost 900 years old. Are years relative to where they are from or is there a standard in the galaxy? Does whatever race he is live 10 times longer than humans?

B. Several times I've heard them use directions. ROTJ Lando tells Wedge to take out the north tower. Storm trooper tells kylo ren, the girl and droid were heading west. How in the hell do they know what that means?

3. How did Darth Vader die? Why did his arm getting cut off kill him? Was his not real forearm essential to his suit that kept him alive?

D. Why was the killer star base frozen? They appeared to be pretty damn close to the sun they absorbed. And shouldn't it be pitch dark and unbearably cold immediately after taking away their sun? What are they going to orbit?

5. Is kylo Rens light saber so shitty B/c he isn't strong enough, or did they use up all the kyber crystals in the galaxy building two death star weapons?

This is a good question. There must be a standard.

Maybe they count seconds and then multiply it out to and convert to standard year (365.25*24*60*60)

Use relative to that planet...but not all have magnetic fields

Really they should say bow/stern port/starboard...but perhaps the writers figured that the directions were easier to comprehend for the audience.

Some of these are too rediculous to answer

I think the Emperor's lightning destroyed some of the electronics of his suit that kept him alive. I think I've read the Emperor put him in that suit not only to save his life but knowing if Vader tried to kill him his lightning could take him out. He was fearful Vader could kill him just like he had done to Plagueis.

The emperor forgot to put a surge protector on Vaders life support system in his suit.

The lightning makes sense o. Vader's death.

The directions bother me B/c one was used inside the reactor of the death star, and also you consistently see multiple sun's. If you don't have a compass in your hand, you'd never know, assuming the planet is magnetic.

My question: What is the rebel guy in the tower doing when ships takeoff?

quote:

The Galactic Standard Calendar was the standard measurement of time in the galaxy. It centered around the Coruscant solar cycle.[source?] The Coruscant solar cycle was 368 days long with a day consisting of 24 standard hours.

So Yoda would be 906.7 Earth years old.

B. Several times I've heard them use directions. ROTJ Lando tells Wedge to take out the north tower. Storm trooper tells kylo ren, the girl and droid were heading west. How in the hell do they know what that means?

Relative to the direction of the ship when flying (just normal directions instead of Nautical, magnetic when on a planent with natural gravity.

3. How did Darth Vader die? Why did his arm getting cut off kill him? Was his not real forearm essential to his suit that kept him alive? It was the large amount of Force lightning that killed him. Basically it was an EMP to his suit and his life support failed. Losing a limb is nothing to a Jedi.

D. Why was the killer star base frozen? They appeared to be pretty damn close to the sun they absorbed. And shouldn't it be pitch dark and unbearably cold immediately after taking away their sun? What are they going to orbit?
quote:

It had it's own shielding. The shields keep the atmosphere constant. It can move so it doesn't need to orbit

5. Is kylo Rens light saber so shitty B/c he isn't strong enough, or did they use up all the kyber crystals in the galaxy building two death star weapons?

They haven't answered this yet but prevailing ideas are because he couldn't get a red kyber crystal or that he didn't know how to properly assemble a light saber. Or that it is an older pre-Jedi design.

Unknown to be honest. Lucas basically prohibited anyone from exploring Yoda's species until the prequels and even then, no one was allowed to go in depth.

From what we know, the only known members of Yoda's species were Jedi who tend to live longer than most members of their species.

Simplicity. Let's face it, just spouting numbers makes it somewhat sillier.

quote:

3. How did Darth Vader die? Why did his arm getting cut off kill him? Was his not real forearm essential to his suit that kept him alive?

His suit kept him alive and he was electrocuted. That tends to not mesh well with electronics.

quote:

D. Why was the killer star base frozen? They appeared to be pretty damn close to the sun they absorbed. And shouldn't it be pitch dark and unbearably cold immediately after taking away their sun? What are they going to orbit?

They wanted a snow speeder battle and you need a snow planet for that. Then they cut it out. For the rest, I think this explains it well:
quote:

If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
and other science facts (la-la-la),
Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show,
I should really just relax..."

The lightsaber was constructed with a cracked crystal.

Why do we all assume Kylo's saber is weaker?

Why can't it be seething with power?

I always thought he designed it that way because Vader and Luke both lost their hand in a saber duel.

Can't they "tune" them differently? Or by using imitation/manufactured crystals

According to the now non canon EU, different crystals would give different effects. Several even made sabers with 3 crystals that allowed the to adjust the length of the "blade".

Why has no one pointed out that the questions were asked by labeling them 1, B, 3, D and 5?

You know how new guitarists tend to crank the gain all the way up on their amps?
I always made that analogy...he's got that thing cranked so high it's just about to blow up.

or

he went with the cheaper Chinese crystals from Amazon Prime.

I'm not saying it's weaker. It's just more unstable/not as refined.

It was based on an ancient design but with modern components. LINK

I can only assume the old designs were to bleed off energy but they do provide some offensive and defensive ability.
