I think Altuve has a bit bigger sample size. We'll see at the end of the year, won't we?

Besides steals, what relevant stat do you think Altuve will lead Bryant in?

I've hated on the hyperbole, Mr. Hes going to break the rookie HR record and his K rate is irrelevant.

Ahh no. Did you care to even look at the numbers?

Bryant has like 10 more walks already despite playing in 9 less games.

shite, Bryant will pass Altuve's walk total from last year by the end of May.

Unless Altuve hits .350 again which won't happen, he won't have a higher OBP

He's going to flirt with 30 HRs, no doubt.

And do you not see how he and say, cris carter or George springer are different strike out hitters? I tried to explain to you, but you're too fricking dumb.

The dude K's a lot but is still on base at a .422 clip. Springer K's a ton and will never be more than a .330-.350 OBP guy. Carter is lucky if he's at .300

Batting average is not a relevant stat? OK

Yes, I looked at the numbers.

Would you rather a .291 hitter that gets on .422 or a .320 hitter that gets on .375?

Yea it's pretty irrelevant. A Bryant walk is the same as an Altuve single

I agree that BA isn't very relevant, but to be fair you used it earlier in this thread to trash the Astros. You can't have it both ways.

Yes he can. You don't know who you're talking to, obviously.

I think BA is irrelevant, but this isn't exactly true. A single can advance runners multiple bases. wOBA and wRC+ are the best offensive stats.

of those players I mentioned, which one's average isn't a great indication on how they've struggled?

It's generally not relevant, but If you're hitting under .200, that is worrisome.

You mean, it doesn't fit your argument or you can't steer the argument your way. I'll give you credit for that. You're excellent at it.

You can't help if I guy walks because he doesn't see a pitch to hit. The same way a swing of the bat can result in a single, it can also result in an out.

With that being said, who's BA/OBP combo are you taking? Feel free to answer

It's awesome how you never address any of my points head on. You do realize how this makes you look, right?

You sit and jab and say I don't make sense but you're always scared to engage and say why.

I'm not going to hate on Bryant, because I think he is a good player and will be a very good player in the future.

But...

Springer is currently 6th in the league in BB%, so saying he will never be more than a .350 OBP guy is a big stretch. He's drastically changed his approach at the plate to where sometimes he almost takes too many strikes now. He still hasn't even had a full 162 games in the bigs yet...

Most people hate Carter, so just throw away all you have to say about him. I could be a douche and bust out ridiculous sabermetrics that justify his worth, but I'm not, because I don't like him no matter what.

You're right, the way the team is now, they are not suited to make a playoff run. Too many strikeout hitters that would get eaten alive against playoff pitching over a full series. But to say that some of our batters won't improve is naïve. Also look for several moves to happen to improve the lineup.

So far they have the third best record in the MLB. That doesn't happen by accident, period. They aren't going to regress because the offense doesn't have much room to really get worse.
