I don't.

Meyer is already at $8 million a year.

His salary is now around 6.5 and he gets at least another 1.5 a year from Nike.

No. Meyer has no experience coaching and/or playing in the NFL and he has never expressed interest in making the jump. There's never been any serious rumors surrounding him or anything. Plus the guy's had health-related issues due to stress. Coaching in the NFL might end up killing the guy.

You realize that '09 class was the year the heart attack happened right?

CFB is about recruiting, scheme, and assistant coaches. Ohio State has all three in spades.

Saban and Spurrier had all of those at LSU and Florida respectively. Hell Urban himself left while having all of that at Florida.

When he ran off he took a year due to health. Nfl would kill him.

I just don't understand the allure of the NFL for college coaches unless they hate recruiting. It's pretty apparent that Urban doesn't mind recruiting. Saban isn't a guy that loves recruiting, he's more of a closer than a guy that primarily or secondarily recruits a bunch of guys.

If you can recruit well, you have a college job for life. In the NFL you have to depend on a lot of things outside your control (unless you're Bill Belichick) regarding drafts, free agency, salaries, etc.

It's much easier to control your own destiny in college, that was my point.

Ego

I agree Urban almost certainly won't leave, but these coaches all know that the greatest of the greats have won at the highest level.

I dislike Saban as much as anyone and loved seeing him fail, but I atleast give him credit for trying.

Thanks for your prediction. You've now guaranteed they won't make it to the NC game. Hell, they may not even win a game now.

Look, I'm just saying , you offer enough money and you can get anyone. shite, if I was a middle eastern oil rich emir , I'd call Jimmy Sexton and simply ask "How much?" It may cost $15 million a year, but if I had 50 billion and I wanted to watch Bama fans melt, i'd be worth it.

He will leave(not for NFL), when Harbaugh starts beating him, then he will fake another heart ailment and head for the ACC.

I had sources at UF then. It was widely known wtf he was doing. Wake up. He didn't have a heart attack. That's a story for fools.

I think he knows what he has there. He's in an area that plays solid football for recruiting. It's a nationally known school. His offense is the perfect fit for college. He's not going anywhere.

Ohio State has deep pockets. Unless he wants the challenge of the NFL. I don't think he does because his wife is happy to be near family in Ohio. At this point I think Ohio State would match whatever money an NFL team would throw at him.

He's beloved and he's in his home state. His son also just got a baseball scholarship to UC so right now he's close enough to see those games. I just don't see him leaving.
