I'm sorry to destroy your belief that NFL players are the "baddest people on the planet" they aren't. They would get their arse kicked by any highly trained pro fighter.

Its the other way around. You think NFL players are somehow going to supersede the fundamentals of combat because they can run a fast 40 yard dash

I was hoping VB would jump in this thread yesterday.
Biggest animal you could take in a fight.
I bet he thinks a trained fighter could armbar a grizzly bear with skill and leverage.

So every female in the UFC could beat every male NFL player in a fight?

Their are only a few highly trained females in MMA. None have Ronda's specific skillset which makes beating someone untrained particularly easy though

Okay, so Ronda Rousey would beat every NFL player who hasn't trained in MMA in a fight?

No one in their right mind would think that Rousey could take on a male FIGHTER. But a man who doesn't know how to fight like she does, yeah she could probably take him. But continue to be insecure about that and I'll mind my own business.

Why's this getting downvoted? The only guy that posts here that could arguably beat Rousey is KBeezy

So you're telling me Ronda Rousey, a 135 pound female, is going to throw around:

306 pound Brodrick Bunkley:

6'8", 322 pound Jared Veldheer (left):

6'10", 402 pound Terrell Brown:

Think about that last guy... he's about 140 pounds heavier than Brock Lesnar. He's as big as Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar combined.

You're insane if you think a 135 pound female, no matter how much training she's had, is going to beat up any of those guys.

I remember Joe Lauzon was doing a video chat a couple years ago, and one guy asked him how he'd fare in a fight against NBA players like Shaq or Blake Griffin. Joe Lauzon said those guys are huge and athletic and that they'd probably beat him. He said there is a point where a guy is just too big to do anything to them. He said trying to pull off a crazy submission is the only chance he'd have.

Arguably?

Did you see the video the OP posted? The greatest female kickboxer and boxer in her prime could not beat some random unknown male fighter that went on to do nothing in the sport. And it wasn't close.

As good as Ronda is against females, the talent level of the females is not even close to what it is with the guys. The guys have better grappling technique than Rousey by far, not to mention they are bigger, stronger, faster, and are better strikers.

Think about the best WNBA player. Her skills are not nearly as good as a ton of male basketball players. From a pure skill standpoint, she could not even compete with the guys. That's not even taking into account the physical superiority that the guys have over her. It's the same with Rousey. Yes, her skill is a lot better than the girls she's fighting... but it's not up to par with the guys.

Not that I really want to jump in here, but...

This is really no that far fetched. Anyone who "fights" is not going to try and "toss around" some huge monster.

There are dozens of people just in Shreveport who train weekly and know numerous submission moves not to mention arm bars and leg locks that will get someone to tap out quite quickly.

The argument about a 135 lb female taken on a 300+ lb male isn't restricted to strength and speed.

I'm not taking a side either way, just saying that people who train to fight know a lot of moves that will work on 135 lb females and 390 lb males.

Also,

I thought the video was a very nice tribute to a great female athlete. I didn't take it as some war of the sexes thing.

lol big muscles don't mean your tendons don't tear. Now can Ronda Rousey torque some 400lber tree trunk arm? Probably not but who knows? But his resistance doesn't have anything to do with it. If she couldn't throw them she would trip them.

at Shaq a dude who we have seen wildly miss punches at point blank range in a fight. He wouldn't even lay a hand on Joe Lauzon

well that's why we're talking about mayweather, who doesn't have that skill level (all around)

the video in the OP is a "no shite" example, because it pits same skill v. same skill. rousey ain't beating any male 135 lb MMA fighters

You've seen Rampage slam people as big as he is when they get him in an armbar. You don't think 300 pound monsters could overpower a 135 pound woman if she tried to get them in an armbar?

I don't think you realize that it takes a certain amount of strength to land an armbar and even get the position.

And you can't just "trip" someone. You have to be in a certain position to even attempt to land a trip takedown. Somebody that big and strong relative to you is going to overpower you so badly that you couldn't do anything to get them down, no matter how good your technique is.

And are you saying Joe Lauzon doesn't know what the hell he's talking about?
