I'm a baseball fan, among other sports as well, and when somebody calls it boring or disses the sport, I could care less.

Soccer fans seem to get extremely upset when you disrespect their sport. Why?

Serious question...

well that seems impossible since soccer is played on growing grass.

So at worst soccer has as much action as growing grass.

I'm a big baseball fan too. And i think baseball fans do get upset when people call it boring (obviously depending on the person). You might not, much like I, as a soccer fan don't get upset if you don't like it, but i don't think there is much difference between the avid fans when someoen says your sport is boring.

That photo is incredibly stupid. American football is popular in only one country. Soccer, being the poverty sport, is played and watched all over the world.

When you consider that soccer is the most popular sport in every single African, South American, and European nation, it really is not that impressive. The population of those three continents combined is 2.3 billion.

Pretty impressive it's so popular to be the favorite sport in so many different places.

Who cares. Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world and less than 1% of Americans have ever even seen 20 seconds of a game.

What else do you expect to see?

- 1 professional (American) football league that contains 32 teams.
- 125 FBS Football teams

- Just in England there are something like 300 professional soccer teams.

You just compared 1 game to 63 games.

Wc average viewership = less than 15,000,000/match

For reference, Sunday night football averages 21million viewers.

Suck it, soccer.

Not surprising at all futball is the most boring sport on the planet. Sorry if most on here don't get that. It's truly a dull sport.

People keep saying this. And its true. But while a football program costs more money to run, the players themselves are largely poor and lower class.

I'm a fan of baseball, soccer, and other sports as well. When someone calls either of the mentioned sports boring, I don't get upset, I just assume they are simple minded.

Maybe the soccer that is taking place on the growing grass actually takes away from the experience of watching grass grow.

Super Bowl: 6 hours
World Cup: Couple Weeks

Super Bowl: 2 teams representing a city/state
World Cup: 32 teams representing a country

And how about the qualifier for the World Cup, at least watched one minute.
